Windows 11/Server 2022 Preview Update (25.1.2022)

Windows [English]Microsoft hat zum 25. Januar 2022 (D-Week) einen Schwung optionaler, kumulativer (Vorschau-) Updates freigegeben. Diese sollen diverse Bugs in Windows 10, Windows 11 und in den entsprechenden Windows Server-Versionen. Nachfolgend gebe ich einen Überblick bezüglich dieser Updates für Windows 11 und Windows Server 2022.

Zu beachten ist, dass es sich bei diesen Updates um sogenannte Preview- oder Vorschau-Updates handelt. Diese sind optional und müssen standardmäßig manuell zum Download und zur Installation angestoßen werden.

Update KB5009608 für Windows Server 2022

Das kumulative Preview Update KB5009608 für Windows Server 2022 hebt die OS-Build auf 20348.502 und enthält die nachfolgenden Fixes:

Updates daylight savings time to start in February 2022 instead of March 2022 in Jordan.
Addresses an issue that affects the App Readiness service and prevents users from successfully signing in.
Addresses an issue that causes the Remote Desktop Services (RDS) server to become unstable when the number of connected users exceeds 100. As a result, users cannot access published applications using RDS on Windows Server 2019.

Addresses an issue that might cause Kerberos.dll to stop working within the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS). This occurs when LSASS processes simultaneous Service for User (S4U) user-to-user (U2U) requests for the same client user.
Addresses an issue that affects the Fast Identity Online 2.0 (FIDO2) credential provider and prevents the display of the PIN entry box.
Addresses an issue that causes Windows to stop working and generates the error, "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".

Das Update ist optional und wird nur angeboten, wenn der Administrator explizit in der Einstellungen-Seite optionale Updates zur Installation auswählt. Das Update lässt sich auch aus dem Microsoft Update Catalog herunterladen und installieren. Das neueste Servicing Stack Update (SSU) ist integriert. Microsoft listet ein bekanntes Problem im Zusammenhang mit Remote Desktop-Verbindungen auf, welches aber bereits per KIR behoben werden kann (Admins müssen die notwenige GPO verwenden).
