Out-of-Band-Updates für Windows 11 24H2 LTSC und Windows Server 2008/R2 (Mai 2025)

[English]Noch ein kleiner Nachtrag für Administratoren von Windows Server 2008/R2. Es gab zum 13. Mai 2025 Out-of-Band-Updates für diese Betriebssystemversionen, um Sicherheitslücken zu schließen. Und für Windows 11 24H2 Enterprise LTSC hat Microsoft wohl auch ein Sonderupdate zum Schließen von Sicherheitslücken veröffentlicht.

Hotpatch KB5061258 für Windows 11 24H2 LTSC

Zum 16. Mai 2025 hat Microsoft das Hotpatch Update KB5061258 veröffentlicht (ist hier aufgefallen). Laut Microsoft gilt das Out-of-Band-Update nur für Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 2024. Im Support-Beitrag heißt es, dass mit diesem Update verschiedene Sicherheitsverbesserungen an internen Betriebssystemfunktionen vorgenommen werden. Es seien keine zusätzlichen Probleme mit diesem Update bekannt.

Out-of-Band-Updates für Windows Server 2008/R2

Zum 13. Mai 2025 muss Microsoft auch Sonderupdates (neben den Rollup-Updates) für Windows Server 2008/R2 veröffentlicht haben. Ich bin auf der patchmanagement.org-Mailingliste auf den betreffenden Post von Susan Bradley gestoßen. Sie zitiert aus einem Microsoft Support-Artikel:

I am running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2. How do I protect my system from this vulnerability?

The protections for this vulnerability are not included in the following May 2025 monthly rollup or security-only updates released on May 13, 2025:

• Windows Server 2008 R2: KB5058454 (Security-only update)
• Windows Server 2008 R2: KB5058430 (Monthly Rollup)
• Windows Server 2008: KB5058429 (Security-only update)
• Windows Server 2008: KB5058449 (Monthly Rollup)

Instead, customers running these versions of Windows Server need to install the following Out-of-Band (OOB) updates, released also on May 13, 2025, as applicable:

• Windows Server 2008 R2: KB5061195 (Security-only update)
• Windows Server 2008 R2: KB5061196 (Monthly Rollup)
• Windows Server 2008: KB5061197 (Security-only update)
• Windows Server 2008: KB5061198 (Monthly Rollup)
