Samsung hat das Samsung Galaxy Note 7 ja weltweit wegen der Akku-Brandgefahr aus dem Markt genommen und die Ger\u00e4te zur\u00fcckgerufen. Der Gro\u00dfteil der K\u00e4ufer ist dem R\u00fcckruf auch nachgekommen. Aber es gibt immer noch Ger\u00e4te im Markt, so dass Samsung diese per Update \"unbrauchbar\" machen will. Da gibt es aber Verwirrung drum.<\/p>\n

Um die Nutzer der noch nicht zur\u00fcckgegebenen Ger\u00e4te unter Druck zu setzen, hat Samsung ein Software-Update f\u00fcr den Akku-Ladevorgang ausgerollt, welches diesen auf ca. 60% der Kapazit\u00e4t begrenzt. Und Samsung kappt den Internetzugang \u00fcber Mobilfunkprovider (siehe Samsung kappt Galaxy Note 7 in Australien das Netz<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Samsung Expands Recall to All Galaxy Note7 Devices<\/h4>\n

Samsung has announced an expanded voluntary recall on all original and replacement Galaxy Note7 devices sold or exchanged in the United States in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and in partnership with carriers and retailers. Since the affected devices can overheat and pose a safety risk, we are asking consumers with a Galaxy Note7 to power it down and contact the carrier or retail outlet where they purchased their device.<\/p>\n

Consumers who have a Galaxy Note7 device can now exchange their phone for another Samsung smartphone, or receive a refund, under the terms of the expanded U.S. Note7 Refund and Exchange Program.<\/p>\n

Note7 Charging Restrictions<\/h4>\n

Consumer safety remains our highest priority and we've had overwhelming participation in the U.S. Note7 Refund and Exchange Program so far, with more than 93 percent of all recalled Galaxy Note7 devices returned.<\/p>\n

To further increase participation, a software update will be released starting on December 19th that will prevent U.S. Galaxy Note7 devices from charging and will eliminate their ability to work as mobile devices.<\/p>\n

If you have not yet returned your device, you should immediately power it down and contact your carrier to obtain a refund or exchange.<\/p>\n

U.S. Note7 Refund and Exchange Program<\/h4>\n

Under the terms of the U.S. Note7 Refund and Exchange Program, you have the following choices:<\/p>\n

  1. Exchange your current Galaxy Note7 for another Samsung smartphone and replacement of any Galaxy Note7 specific accessories with a refund of the price difference between devices<\/li>\n
  2. Obtain a refund at your point of purchase<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In addition, you may be eligible for additional incentives described below:<\/p>\n

    What if I want to exchange my Galaxy Note7 for another Samsung smartphone? <\/b><\/p>\n

    As a sign of our appreciation for your patience and loyalty, we are offering up to a $100 bill credit from select carrier or retail outlets if you exchange your Galaxy Note7 for another Samsung smartphone, less any incentive credits already received.<\/p>\n

    What if I already exchanged my Galaxy Note7 for another Samsung smartphone? <\/b><\/p>\n

    If you already exchanged your Galaxy Note7 device for another Samsung smartphone, you will receive up to a $75 bill credit from select carrier or retail outlets in addition to the $25 you previously received.<\/p>\n

    What if I want a refund for my Galaxy Note7? <\/b><\/p>\n

    If you choose to obtain a refund, you will receive up to a $25 bill credit from select carrier or retail outlets as a token of our appreciation and acknowledgement of your inconvenience, less any incentive credits already received.<\/p>\n

    What if I want to exchange my Galaxy Note7 for another brand of smartphone? <\/b><\/p>\n

    If you choose to exchange your Galaxy Note7 for another brand of smartphone, you will receive up to a $25 bill credit from select carrier or retail outlets as a token of our appreciation and acknowledgement of your inconvenience, less any incentive credits already received.<\/p>\n

    Affected Devices<\/h4>\n

    The expanded recall applies to all Galaxy Note7 devices \u2013 including the original and replacement. Because your safety is important to us, if you are currently using a Galaxy Note7, please power down immediately and participate in our U.S. Note7 Refund and Exchange Program.<\/p>\n

    Man will also mit den Providern updaten, um die Ger\u00e4te zu bricken. Der US-Provider Verizon schreibt aber auf seiner Webseite<\/a>, dass das nix wird:<\/p>\n

    Today, Samsung announced an update to the Galaxy Note7 that would stop the smartphone from charging, rendering it useless unless attached to a power charger. Verizon will not be taking part in this update because of the added risk this could pose to Galaxy Note7 users that do not have another device to switch to. We will not push a software upgrade that will eliminate the ability for the Note7 to work as a mobile device in the heart of the holiday travel season. We do not want to make it impossible to contact family, first responders or medical professionals in an emergency situation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
