M\u00f6glicherweise gibt es die Fehlermeldung 'OS not compatible'.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Worum geht es?<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vg07.met.vgwort.de\/na\/551737342e9446a1b8a47a27aec86fbd\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>Intel hat Mitte Oktober 2019 den Intel Grafiktreiber 26.20.100.7323 DCH ver\u00f6ffentlicht (die Kollegen von deskmodder.de haben <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deskmodder.de\/blog\/2019\/10\/19\/intel-grafiktreiber-26-20-100-7323-dch-unterstuetzt-windows-10-1909\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hier<\/a> was dazu geschrieben). Karl schreibt, dass der Treiber sich unter Windows 10 Version 1909 m\u00f6glicherweise nicht installieren lasse. Die Installation bricht mit der Fehlermeldung 'OS not compatible' ab.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Es gibt zwar einige Treffer, wenn man in Verbindung mit einem nicht kompatiblen Intel Grafiktreiber sucht. Die Erkl\u00e4rungen, dass das Betriebssystem veraltet sei, sind hier aber nicht wirklich zielf\u00fchrend.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Die Ursache: Intel GPU abgeschaltet<\/h2>\n<p>Nachdem die Diskussion auf Twitter los ging, hat sich Karl direkt an Intel gewandt und nachgefragt, warum diese Fehlermeldung kommt. Es gab dann eine Antwort von Intel, die Karl in folgendem Tweet zusammenfasst:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"de\">ok die Sache ist mit Intel per PN aufgekl\u00e4rt. Wenn die prim\u00e4re Grafikkarte die Intel GPU abschaltet kommt diese Meldung. Fr\u00fcher war die mal spezifischer. Jetzt kommt \"OS not compatible\"<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 al Qamar (Karl Wester-Ebbinghaus) (@tweet_alqamar) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tweet_alqamar\/status\/1192350298947358720?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 7, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Das Problem tritt also nur auf Systemen auf, wo die prim\u00e4re Grafikkarte die Intel GPU auf dem Main-Board abschaltet. Dann l\u00e4sst sich der Intel Grafiktreiber logischerweise nicht installieren. Karl schreibt dazu:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"de\">Hallo G\u00fcnter. Im Grunde erkennt der Intel Driver Update und Support Assistant die \"abgeschaltete\" gpu im Ger\u00e4temanager. Wenn das setup dann jetzt eine korrekte Fehlermeldung ausgeben w\u00fcrde wie fr\u00fcher mal w\u00e4re alles verst\u00e4ndlich. So l\u00e4d der User es runter und dann kommt es so.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 al Qamar (Karl Wester-Ebbinghaus) (@tweet_alqamar) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tweet_alqamar\/status\/1192510807910862854?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 7, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Falls also die obige Fehlermeldung bei der Aktualisierung des Intel Grafiktreibers bei euch auftritt, kennt ihr die Ursache.<\/p>\n<h2>Noch eine Antwort von Intel<\/h2>\n<p>Erg\u00e4nzung: Karl hat mir \u00fcber Twitter noch eine weitere Korrespondenz mit Intel und deren Antwort zukommen lassen.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hier Intels Antwort nach Tagen&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Zun\u00e4chst meine Antwort darauf:<\/p>\n<p>Hi there, I fear you have missed the point of my request.<\/p>\n<p>Are you able to triage this as a bug request for Intel Driver and support assistant and the 6-10th driver installer?<\/p>\n<p>1a) Intel Driver and support assistant should not propose updates for devices in the device manager or installed software that is in the state \"disconnected\" .<\/p>\n<p>The Intel gpu is \"disconnected\" when you install the driver, and later it is turned off by installing a PCI-Express GPU unless UEFI settings state that it is enabled for dual operation.<\/p>\n<p>2a) In case we follow the logic the driver installation setup should not terminate with \"OS not compatible\" which is not correct for 1909, but it should rather quit with \"you cannot update the driver for an inactive device\"<\/p>\n<p>1b) If we still want to patch drivers with intel driver and support assistant inactive or disconnected devices they should be detected<\/p>\n<p>2b) In this case the driver setup should not terminate with \"OS not compatible\" but instead updating the driver for the disconnected device.<\/p>\n<p>I'd prefer B so just in case devices and drivers are updates, e. g. security fixes etc just in case that the user will uninstall the PCI-Express gpu, he does not need to care for updating drivers then.<\/p>\n<p>I think its technical possible to update drivers for disconnected devices.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise follow pattern A.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for considering this bug report in a future version of Intel Driver Update and support assist and the driver installation setups.<\/p>\n<p>As a feature request please include to scan for Intel ME drivers + Intel SSD Firmware. They are the only one to miss in the Intel Driver Updater and Support assistant.<\/p>\n<p>In my job the Intel ME drivers are mostly outdated ones despite the Intel ME Firmware is updated via UEFI updates and have security issues or feature regressions as Microsoft rarely updates this package to Windows Update.<\/p>\n<p>Intel's answer:<\/p>\n<p>Hello!
