\"\"Es gab mal Zeiten bei Microsoft, da konnte man an Produktnamen noch irgendwie ahnen, was das war. So war immer klar, dass in einem Microsoft Office-Paket irgendwo Anwendungen wie Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc. f\u00fcr den B\u00fcrobereich enthalten waren. Irgendwann auf dem Weg in Cloud- und Mietmodelle wurde das Ganze dann in Office 365 umbenannt. Konnte ich mir auch gut merken: \"bei diesem Produkt musst Du 365 Tage im Jahr mit rechnen, dass es ausf\u00e4llt\".<\/p>\n

Dann kam die Umbenennung in Microsoft 365 – was zwar noch die Office 365-Apps umfasste, sich aber irgendwie auch noch auf \"l\u00e4uft unter Windows\" bezog. Aber bis heute ist mir nie klar, was sich genau jeweils hinter einem Microsoft 365 \"Plan\" verbirgt. Und wenn die da drau\u00dfen keinen Plan haben, weg damit.<\/p>\n

Alles hei\u00dft bald Microsoft 365 Copilot?<\/h2>\n

Unter der Message ID MC958903 hat Microsoft am gestrigen 17. Dezember 2024 im Microsoft 365 Admin-Center einige Neuerungen verk\u00fcndet, die ab Mitte Januar 2025 gelten. Nachfolgendes Bild verdeutlicht die Umbenennungen der Produkte.<\/p>\n

\"Copilot<\/p>\n

Microsoft Copilot wird nun f\u00fcr Business-Nutzer in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat umbenannt und soll auch eine neue Domain ms365copilot.com<\/em> erhalten. Aus Microsoft 365 wird dann Microsoft 365 Copilot, alles ganz einfach – und ein neues Logo gibt es f\u00fcr die App auch, wie man in obigem Bild sieht. Die \u00c4nderungen werden ab Mitte Januar 2025 wirksam, also bald.<\/p>\n

Martin Geu\u00df hat dieses Thema in diesem Beitrag<\/a> angesprochen – und wundert sich \u00fcber die Verwirrung, die Microsoft mal wieder stiftet.\u00a0Martin gibt aber die Meldung MC958905<\/a> im MS365 Admin-Center an, die sich auf Microsoft 365 Copilot app UI<\/em> bezieht. Ich habe den nachfolgenden Text aus dieser Quelle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wie dem auch immer sei, die einheitliche URL f\u00fcr Cloud-Produkte (siehe Flurbereinigung: Microsoft 365 Apps ziehen nach cloud.microsoft um<\/a>) hat wohl gerade den \"Prager Fenstersturz\" erlebt und ist in hohem Bogen aus dem Fenster auf den Misthaufen der Geschichte geworfen worden – oder ich habe was nicht richtig verstanden. Auf reddit.com<\/a> lassen sich die Leute ebenfalls verwundert \u00fcber Microsofts Winkelz\u00fcge aus.<\/p>\n

Auf Malter365 (einem Portal, wo Stefan Malter Microsoft 365 f\u00fcr Lehrer erkl\u00e4rt), wird die Entwicklung um Copilot im Kommentar Microsoft Copilot: Chaos im Cockpit statt H\u00f6henflug mit KI [Kommentar]<\/a> seziert. Dem l\u00e4sst sich nicht mehr viel hinzuf\u00fcgen.<\/p>\n

Immerhin, eine gute Nachricht habe ich noch von Microsoft: Niemand muss etwas aktiv tun, die \u00c4nderungen werden einfach so im Januar 2025 \u00fcber die Anwender gekippt – sozusagen eine versp\u00e4tete Weihnachts\u00fcberraschung mit vier Wochen Vorank\u00fcndigung. Important updates to Microsoft Copilot and the Microsoft 365 app<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are making several important updates to how your entire organization can experience\u00a0Microsoft Copilot<\/a>, our existing ad-free, AI-powered chat service grounded in the web and secured with enterprise data protection. Starting in mid-January, we will roll out the following changes:<\/p>\n

  1. We are making name changes to simplify the user experience. Microsoft Copilot for Entra account users will be renamed Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat.     Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat (formerly Microsoft Copilot) will continue to offer web-grounded chat with the latest large language models including GPT-4o, features like Pages and file upload, and enterprise data protection at no additional cost for Entra account users.<\/p>\n

    Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat users will be able to discover, create, and use agents, including custom agents that can access shared work data in your tenant. Access to agents can be controlled and configured within the Microsoft 365 admin center. Specific agents, such as those that access shared work data, will be billed based on metered consumption for users without a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Agents grounded only on web data will be available to use at no additional cost.<\/p>\n

    The name changes for Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, and the new Microsoft 365 Copilot app icon, will roll out across App stores and the web in mid-January.<\/p>\n

    We are also introducing a new URL to make it easier to discover Microsoft 365 Copilot on the web: M365Copilot.com<\/em>. Further, users visiting office.com and microsoft365.com will automatically redirect to m365.cloud.microsoft.<\/p>\n

    Additionally, we are rolling out updates to the Microsoft 365 Copilot app UI. For more details, refer to MC958905.<\/p>\n

    No action is required for Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat integration within the new Microsoft 365 Copilot app. Previous tenant pinning controls for Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat (formerly Microsoft Copilot) will be honored. These settings can be found and managed on the\u00a0Copilot page within the Microsoft 365 admin center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Per above, web grounded agents are available at no cost and respect existing settings for enabling web grounding within a tenant.<\/p>\n

    Agents that access SharePoint or Graph Connector content will be billed based on metered consumption. Agents utilizing metered consumption are off by default. To enable, admins will need to set up or utilize an existing Azure subscription for Copilot Studio. More details on how to manage metered consumption will be available in mid-January.<\/p>\n

    No action is needed to enable agents for Microsoft 365 Copilot-licensed users \u2013 the use of agents comes with Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses.<\/p>\n
