Das am 13. Mai 2025 f\u00fcr Windows 11 22H2 \/ 23H2 ausgerollte Update KB5058405 f\u00fchrt bei einigen Systemen zum BlueScreen mit dem Fehlercode 0xc0000098. Das System bleibt im Recovery-Modus h\u00e4ngen, weil der ACPI.sys Probleme macht, und will dann repariert werden. Es gibt seit dem 31. Mai 2025 ein Out-of-Band-Update, um das Problem zu beheben.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Windows 11 22H2 \/ 23H2 Update KB5058405<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vg09.met.vgwort.de\/na\/8fe64c69572f4953a839b55ed0f3caf6\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>Das kumulative Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/5058405\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KB5058405<\/a>\u00a0f\u00fcr Windows 11 22H2-23H2 vom 13. Mai 2025\u00a0beinhaltet Qualit\u00e4tsverbesserungen sowie Sicherheitspatches (siehe <a href=\"https:\/\/borncity.com\/blog\/2025\/04\/09\/microsoft-security-update-summary-8-april-2025\/\">Microsoft Security Update Summary (8. April 2025)<\/a>). Es beseitigt einige im Artikel <a href=\"https:\/\/borncity.com\/blog\/2025\/05\/14\/patchday-windows-10-11-updates-13-mai-2025\/\">Patchday: Windows 10\/11 Updates (13. Mai 2025)<\/a> beschriebene Probleme.<\/p>\n<h2>Update KB5058405 verursacht BSOD 0xc0000098<\/h2>\n<p>Bereits zum 28. Mai 2025 hat Microsoft den Support-Beitrag <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/release-health\/status-windows-11-23H2#3563msgdesc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-linktype=\"self-bookmark\">KB5058405 might fail to install with recovery error 0xc0000098 in ACPI.sys<\/a> im Known Issues-Abschnitt des Windows Release Health Dashboard ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Es hei\u00dft, dass Windows 11 22H2 und 23H2 nach der Installation des Update KB5058405 m\u00f6glicherweise nicht mehr starten und mit dem Fehler 0xc0000098 in der Datei <em>ACPI.sys<\/em> aussteigen.<\/p>\n<p>Zumindest schreibt Microsoft, dass ihnen ein Problem bei der Installation des Windows-Sicherheitsupdates vom Mai (KB5058405) bekannt sein. Auf einigen Ger\u00e4ten mit Windows 11 Version 22H2 und 23H2 kann bei der Update-Installation der folgende Wiederherstellungsfehler auftreten:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<pre class=\"ql-syntax\" spellcheck=\"false\">Your PC\/Device needs to be repaired\r\nThe operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.\r\nFile: ACPI.sys\r\nError code: 0xc0000098<\/pre>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Es gibt auch Berichte \u00fcber das Auftreten desselben Fehlers mit einem anderen Dateinamen. Die Datei <em>ACPI.sys<\/em> (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) ist ein wichtiger Windows-Systemtreiber, \u00fcber den Windows Hardwareressourcen und den Energiestatus verwaltet.<\/p>\n<p>Weit verbreitet ist der Bug wohl nicht, Microsoft schreibt etwas von\u00a0einer kleinen Anzahl von physischen Ger\u00e4ten, die betroffen seine.\u00a0 Haupts\u00e4chlich tritt der Fehler wohl in virtuellen Umgebungen mit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Azure Virtual Machines<\/li>\n<li>Azure Virtual Desktop<\/li>\n<li>Lokale virtuelle Maschinen, die auf Citrix oder Hyper-V gehostet werden<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Privatanwender von Windows 11 Home- oder Pro-Editionen sind laut Microsoft (wegen fehlender VMs) von diesem Problem wahrscheinlich nicht betroffen.\u00a0Azure-Kunden, die das Update bereits installiert haben und bei denen Probleme auftreten, empfiehlt Microsoft die im Artikel <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/troubleshoot\/azure\/virtual-machines\/windows\/repair-windows-vm-using-azure-virtual-machine-repair-commands\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-linktype=\"absolute-path\">Repair a Windows VM using Azure Virtual Machine repair commands<\/a> beschriebenen Schritte zur Reparatur durchzuf\u00fchren. Die\u00a0Microsoft-Entwickler wollten ein Out-of-Band-Update ver\u00f6ffentlichen.<\/p>\n<h2>Windows 11 Out-of-Band-Update\u00a0KB5062170<\/h2>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend der Microsoft Supportbeitrag noch keine Informationen zum Fix enth\u00e4lt, bin ich im Eleven-Forum auf <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elevenforum.com\/t\/kb5062170-windows-11-out-of-band-update-build-22631-5415-23h2-may-31.36639\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">diesen Thread<\/a> gesto\u00dfen. Dort wird zum 31. Mai 2025 das Out-of-Band-Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/topic\/may-31-2025-kb5062170-os-builds-22621-5415-and-22631-5415-out-of-band-fb7ab9b6-c874-41cf-b962-c674482aa24d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KB5062170<\/a> als f\u00fcr Windows 11 22H2 &#8211; 23H2 verf\u00fcgbar angek\u00fcndigt.<\/p>\n<p>Dieses Update behebt ein Problem, bei dem w\u00e4hrend der Installation des Windows-Sicherheitsupdates vom Mai 2025 (KB5058405) f\u00fcr Windows 11 22H2 und 23H2 ein Wiederherstellungsfehler mit Fehlercode 0xc0000098 auftrat. Dieses Update wird auf Systemen, die KB5058405 erfolgreich angewendet haben, nicht installiert.<\/p>\n<p>Dieses Out-of-Band-Update (OOB) enth\u00e4lt alle Verbesserungen und Fixes aus dem Update KB5058502 vom Mai 2025m sowie eine L\u00f6sung f\u00fcr dieses spezielle Problem. Da es sich um ein kumulatives Update handelt, m\u00fcssen keine fr\u00fcheren Updates installiert werden. Dieses Update enth\u00e4lt keine neuen Sicherheitsupdates, die \u00fcber die im Windows-Sicherheitsupdate vom Mai 2025 enthaltenen hinausgehen.
