Als Musik zum Sonntag habe ich heute wieder einen Pop-Klassiker aus den 70er Jahren mitgebracht. Es handelt sich um das Stück 'Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress", von The Hollies.

The Hollies sind eine 1962 gegründete, britische Pop-Band, bestehend aus Allan Clarke, Graham Nash, Jeremy Levine und Don Rathbone. Der Bandname ist eine Hommage an den verstorbenen Buddy Holly. Graham Nash verließ die Band 1968 und wurde Teil von Crosby, Stills and Nash. Ersetzt wurde er durch Terry Sylvester.
Das von Allan Clarke geschriebene Stück Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress erschien 1972 auf dem Album Distant Light, In Großbritannien kam das Stück nur auf Platz 32, aber in den USA (Platz 2) und in anderen Teilen war das Stück ein Erfolg.
