How many users are working with Windows 10 every day?

It has been a speculation, how many users are working with Windows 10 on a daily base. We have hat figures how many systems has been upgraded to Windows 10, and we have a monthly statistic of OS use on desktop systems. Now Microsoft has published new data.

The data from netmarketshare.com sees for end of April 2017 Windows 7 at 48.50%, and Windows 10 at 26.28% on desktop computers. Windows XP is used on 7.04% of all systems, while Windows 8.1 remains on 6,96% of all computers.

In August 2016, Microsoft claimed that 400 million Windows 10 systems has been activated (see ZDNet.com). But activation isn't "using Windows 10 on devices". According to an interview with Bloomberg Tech (video), Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi confirms: Windows 10 is being used by 300 million users every day.

Windows 10 has been doing great. It's been many months sine we reported we had 400 million monthly active users, but 300 million+ use it every day for 3 and a half hours. It's the fastest adoption in corporation we've ever seen, and we're seeing great deployment on that. We couldn't be more thrilled with the progress on Windows.

In other words: Windows 10 is free fro most users – many, many users of Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 has been forced between August 2015 and Juli 2016 to upgrade to Windows 10. But 100 million users (at minimum) are not using Windows 10 on a daily base – or has downgraded to previous Windows version. A success story? What's your opinion? (via)

    I have updated my 7 to W10, used it for a month and… I bought 8.1 :). Anything is better than W10.
