Firefox 58.0.2 for Windows, macOS and Linux released

Mozilla[German]Mozilla’s developers has released version 58.0.2 of the Firefox browser for Windows, macOS and Linux on February 7, 2018 (thanks to Christoph W. for pointing this out in the early morning).

After I started the browser I got the following dialog box with the update information via the menu Help – About Firefox.

Firefox 18.0.2

This is a maintenance update which, according to the release notes, should fix the following problems and:

  • Avoid a signature validation issue during update on macOS
  • Blocklisted graphics drivers related to off main thread painting crashes
  • Tab crash during printing
  • Fix clicking links and scrolling emails on Microsoft Hotmail and Outlook (OWA) webmail

The downloads are available for all platforms on Mozilla’s website. An installed browser can be updated via the help menu (if auto-update is not allowed). After the update you should check again for entries of the type testpilot-dot-firefox-dot-com (see e. g. the German comment here).
