[German]iCloud for Windows was previously incompatible with Windows 10 October 2018 Update (V1809). Microsoft probably found a solution with Apple to install iCloud for Windows under Windows 10 October 2018 Update (V1809). The upgrade stop is now lifted.

What's the problem?
The iCloud client for Windows allows access to the Apple services in question. With iCloud for Windows, users can manage settings and synchronize photos, web bookmarks, and Outlook data such as email, contacts, and calendars.

Apple's iCloud 7.7.027 for Windows, Apple and Microsoft found an incompatibility. Users trying to install iCloud for Windows (version 7.7.0.27) on Windows 10, version 1809 will receive a message that this version of iCloud for Windows is not supported and the installation fails.
Additionally, users may experience problems updating the synchronization of shared albums after updating to Windows 10, version 1809. Microsoft has therefore blocked the feature update to the new Windows version if Apple iCloud for Windows is installed on the machines. I had reported about that within my German blog post Windows 10 V1809: Bekannte Probleme – Teil 4.
There seems to be a fix
Web site Apple Insider site reports that this issue has now been solved. Apple didn't mention a fix on this website, but the support page was updated on October 27, 2018. In addition, the iCloud for Windows client provided there is offered as compatible with Windows 7 upwards. Previously there was the restriction 'Windows 7 through Windows 10 April 2018 Update'. The download is possible from this website. (via)
