Otherwise, no more notifications will be sent. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/vg05.met.vgwort.de\/na\/bed959a1eb844da2b4382c0984e86207\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\">I'm going to post another case about Windows 10 version 1909 here in the blog, which shows how you can fall on your stomach with group policies. <\/p>\n<h2>No warning at low battery capacity anymore<\/h2>\n<p>I stumbled the days on Twitter over the following tweet from @FuWissinger, which describes a problem there.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Bug with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Windows10?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Windows10<\/a> 1909 and Power Management messaging? Low battery warning does not appear and computer turns off without any warning based on critical battery action. This does not happen on Windows 10 1809 with the same settings. He has set the 'Low Battery Notification' option shown in the image above to On in the power options. Unfortunately, nothing happens in terms of notifications, the notebook simply goes off when the battery is low. Since the device with the Windows 10 October 2019 Update (version 1809) with the same settings shows a low battery warning, he thought it was a bug. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Confirmed. On a Dell Latitude 7370, the notification didn't work. It's probably another bug.<\/p>\n<h2>Group policies work differently in Windows 10 <\/h2>\n<p>Kindly @FuWeissinger has found the cause and has complied with my request to inform me in case of success. The following tweet brings it to the point where the root cause is.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Seems the issue is with the GPO Settings which are handled differentially 1809\/1909. Low battery notification level in GPO set to \"not configured\" now it works. Notification will only be shown if the \"Low Battery Notification Action\" policy setting is configured to \"No Action\".<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Fu Weissinger (@FuWeissinger) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FuWeissinger\/status\/1222519043212619777?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 29, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span id=\"preserve99bfe97a94474704a1c0f6f593d5e41b\" class=\"wlWriterPreserve\"><SCRIPT charset=\"utf-8\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async><\/SCRIPT><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>According to the tweet, it's because of the Group Policy settings, which work differently between Windows 10 version 1809 and 1909. He set the Group Policy for low battery notification to 'not configured' and suddenly low battery notification worked in Windows 10 version 1909 as well. He wrote me about it:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Hello Mr Born, I am happy to pass on the information. We set the energy settings via GPO Preferences. Obviously there is a difference between 1809 and 1909, if you additionally use Computer Configuration &#8211;&gt; Admin. Templates &gt; System &gt; Power Management &gt; Notification Settings Settings.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/pDFWryx.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\" Gruppenrichtlinie Akkustandsbenachrichtigung\" alt=\" Gruppenrichtlinie Akkustandsbenachrichtigung\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/pDFWryx.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"421\"><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I set the GPOs back to \"not configured\" and left the GPO preferences. The first tests were positive, the message appears again.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/4HmRv5s.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Energiesparplan\" alt=\"Energiesparplan\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/4HmRv5s.jpg\" width=\"616\" height=\"441\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The above two screenshots (click to enlarge) show the respective settings that work.
