Redmond delights its users of Windows 10 V1903 and V1909 randomly with the nag screen 'Get Let's make Windows even better \u2026' when they log in. Here a few information prepared. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Strange thing after the Windows V190x logon<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/vg02.met.vgwort.de\/na\/650cf4a452d64717afbca27d05adcf8d\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\">German Blog reader Uwe O. contacted me a few days ago because of a strange observation. He writes about it:&nbsp; <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Does your Windows 10 welcomes you as friendly as shown here, when you log on?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Uwe addresses the following message (it's in German, see the English message below), shown as a nag screen using the full screen after login.  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Windows 10 Nag-Screen\" alt=\"Windows 10 Nag-Screen\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/jfMdT7J.jpg\" width=\"613\" height=\"491\">  <\/p>\n<p>Shortly after I've posted the screen shot of the nag screen within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.borncity.com\/blog\/2020\/03\/11\/windows-patchday-probleme-mrz-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">my German blog<\/a>, several blog readers confirmed, that they get the nag screen on a random base. At that time I still remembered something months agro, so I begun searching my old blog posts.  <\/p>\n<h2>Some feedback a year ago<\/h2>\n<p>After I searched my blog, I found my German blog post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.borncity.com\/blog\/2019\/01\/14\/windows-10-wenn-das-marketing-mal-wieder-zuschlgt\/\">Windows 10: Wenn das Marketing mal wieder zuschl\u00e4gt<\/a> from January 2019. Barb Bowman has reported an annoying behavior in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18312.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NorthFaceHiker?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@NorthFaceHiker<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JenMsft?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@JenMsft<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/brandonleblanc?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@brandonleblanc<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/windowsinsider?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@windowsinsider<\/a> is this an annoying by design marketing thing or is it a bug I need t file FB on? Jen Gentleman from Microsoft answered at that time and pointed out that the changes had already been announced in Windows 10 Insider Preview build 17682. Especially spicy: Barb Bowman wrote that she already uses some of the 'introduced' features on her device.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>If you have an extremely positive attitude towards Microsoft, you'll shrug the shoulders and possibly think: ' it's nice when Microsoft presents its great new Windows 10 features to users'. If we would had a perfect Windows 10 product, I would nonchalantly overlook that senseless marketing attempt. But with the current circumstances I would quote it as the ordinary marketing bullshit from Redmond. No value at all, no one needs it, no one won't that, but it nags users on a random base. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>How to block the Nag Screen?<\/h2>\n<p>After mention the issue within my German blog post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.borncity.com\/blog\/2020\/03\/11\/windows-patchday-probleme-mrz-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Windows: Patchday-Probleme M\u00e4rz 2020?<\/a>, the question arrose 'how to block this nag screen?'. The guy from German site deskmodder.de pointed me to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deskmodder.de\/wiki\/index.php?title=Deaktivierung_von_Ziehen_Sie_einen_noch_gr%C3%B6%C3%9Feren_Nutzen_aus_Windows_10\">Wiki<\/a> with further hints. <\/p>\n<p>1. Launch <em>Regedit.exe <\/em>in Windows 10 Version 1903 and navigate to the registry key below:<\/p>\n<pre>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\UserProfileEngagement<\/pre>\n<p>Create a 32 bit-DWORD value <em>ScoobeSystemSettingEnabled<\/em> and set it to 0. If you use Windows 10 1909 navigate to the registry key below. <\/p>\n<pre>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\ContentDeliveryManager<\/pre>\n<p>Create a 32 bit-DWORD value <em>SubscribedContent-310093Enabled<\/em> anlegen and set it to 0.
