If you search the internet for 'outlook no pictures' there are numerous hits. In this Microsoft Answers forum post<\/a> the error image is described. <\/p>\n

Outlook 2016 does not display images<\/p>\n

I have an issue where Outlook 2016 (part of Office 365 under Windows 10 Home), stops displaying images in emails. <\/p>\n

This is nothing to do with spam or blocked sites – after operating normally for a time, maybe a day or so, emails from trusted senders do not show images and pictures – just a placeholder red x in their place. <\/p>\n

If I close Outlook and restart it, the images are correctly displayed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

At Microsoft Answers there is the following suggestion: <\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Internet Explorer, go to Internet Options<\/em>, then select Advanced<\/em>.\n
  2. Under Security<\/em>, look for Do not save encrypted files to disk<\/em>.\n
  3. Remove the check mark for this setting and click Apply<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    There is also a hint, to open Internet Options, <\/em>go to the tab Advanced rweitert <\/em>and select Reset extended settings<\/em>. Microsoft has published this article<\/a> and this article<\/a> to fix the issue.  <\/p>\n

    A reading tip with a solution<\/h2>\n

    In January 2020 blog reader Martin U. had already contacted me by mail and sent me a hint about his solution (thanks for that). I'll just post it here on the blog. <\/p>\n

    My problem: In Outlook only red crosses instead of pictures. Couldn't reload the pictures manually either. I have really worked through all the tips listed on their page. No effect. In the end the solution was on my WIN10 computer. <\/p>\n

    Internet Options>Settings>Temporary Internet files <\/p>\n

    Outlook probably uses these settings as well. There x was set to automatic and 8MB size although 250MB were recommended. I could not change the 8MB size. Only 8-8MB were allowed. <\/p>\n

    After a long time of trying I deleted the folder, which is described below.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
