This is a maintenance update for the 68 main version of the e-mail client, which corrects some bugs, but also contains security fixes.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The note already came from Gero in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.borncity.com\/blog\/2020\/04\/07\/firefox-75-und-68-7-0esr-verfgbar\/#comment-87807\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this comment<\/a> (thanks for that). I tested immediately, and got the update to the new version offered. During a quick check the update installed without any issues. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/68.7.0\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">release notes<\/a> the raw data of the message are available for MailExtensions. Furthermore there are the following changes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MailExtensions: The <em>messages.update <\/em>function has been enhanced to mark messages as junk or not\n<li>MailExtensions: The <em>browser.compose.begin <\/em>function no longer extend mailing lists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The changelog also lists the following fixes for the new Thunderbird version:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Various improvements to account setup when connecting to an Exchange server\n<li>Thread collapsed when opening news message in a new window\n<li>Addons not automatically updated to compatible version after upgrade from Thunderbird 60\n<li>Updating addons did not prompt when requesting new permissions\n<li>Extra recipients panel not keyboard-accessible\n<li>Accessibility: Status bar was not detected by screenreaders\n<li>MailExtensions: messages.query by folder name did not require accountsRead permission\n<li>Calendar: Invitations with embedded null bytes did not always decode correctly\n<li>Calendar: Cancelled events didn't show with a line-through<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although the release notes mention various security fixes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/known-vulnerabilities\/thunderbird\/#thunderbird68.7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this page<\/a> does not contain any entries for Thunderbird 68.7.0.<\/p>\n<h2>System requirements<\/h2>\n<p>The system requirements for the different operating system versions (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/68.0\/system-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">also<\/a>):  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher\n<li>Mac: Mac OS X 10.9 or later\n<li>Linux: GTK+ 3.4 or higher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The download is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.
