Servicing Stack Updates<\/h2>\n

Microsoft now publishes an overview of all current Servicing Stack Updates (SSUs). The list of SSUs can be found at ADV990001 (but is not always up to date).<\/p>\n

Notes on the updates<\/h3>\n

All Windows 10 updates are cumulative. The monthly patchday update includes all security fixes for Windows 10 and all non-security related fixes until the patchday. In addition to the security patches for the vulnerabilities, the updates contain defense-in-depth updates to improve security.<\/p>\n

Windows 7 SP1 has been out of support since January 2020. Only customers with an ESU license (or bypass measures) will still receive updates. Updates can also be downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a>. The updates for Windows RT 8.1 and Microsoft Office RT are only available through Windows Update.<\/p>\n

Information about the support period for Windows 10 can be found in the Windows Lifecycle Facts Sheet<\/a>. But Microsoft postphoned the end of life for Windows 10 Version 1709 (Enterprise\/Education) and Windows 10 Version 1809 (Home and Pro) until October 2020, due to the corona crisis.<\/p>\n

The April 2020 security updates cover 113 partially massive vulnerabilities in Microsoft products. 15 fixes are listed as critical, 93 as important and one as moderate, according to Bleeping Computer<\/a>. And we have 3 fixes for 0-day vulnerabilities, 4 bugs are under active exploit, according to this article<\/a>. A list of all security updates can be found on the Zero Day Initiative blog<\/a>.
