This allows for example, to remove the contents of temporary folders, old Windows installation or update files. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleepstatic.com\/images\/news\/Microsoft\/Windows-10\/windows-10-october-2018-update\/disk-cleanup\/disk-cleanup-comparison.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Disk Cleanup\" alt=\"Disk Cleanup\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bleepstatic.com\/images\/news\/Microsoft\/Windows-10\/windows-10-october-2018-update\/disk-cleanup\/disk-cleanup-comparison.jpg\" width=\"619\" height=\"352\"><\/a><br \/>(Disk Cleanup, Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleepingcomputer.com\/news\/microsoft\/psa-disk-cleanup-cleans-downloads-folder-in-windows-10-october-2018-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bleeping Computer<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>In Windows 10 October 2018 Update (Version 1809), the developers added the <em>Downloads<\/em> folder to the list of folders to be emptied by Disk Cleanup as an option. The screenshot above shows that the <em>Downloads<\/em> folder is listed in the right pane.
