[English<\/a>]There is the next problem for those who switch to the Windows 10 May 2020 Update (Version 2004). In certain constellations it can happen that external displays turn black and no longer show anything. <\/p>\n

In the meantime, however, a lot of smaller and bigger bugs are known in the new Windows 10 version, which can affect individual users. In the article  Windows 10 Version 2004\/Windows Server 2004 released<\/a> I had already advised to upgrade at a later date because the new build still contains many bugs. On the Windows 10 version 2004 status page there was a list of ten confirmed bugs for the Windows 10 version 2004 release, which Microsoft is investigating. Black screen when drawing with Word etc.<\/h2>\n

In a support document External display goes black when you try to draw using an app on Windows 10 version 2004<\/a> released on June 6, 2020, Microsoft documents another error – but strangely enough only for Windows 10 version 2004 Education:<\/p>\n

If you have a device running Windows 10 version 2004 with a built-in screen (such as a laptop or tablet) and a connected external display set to Duplicate your primary screen, you might see both monitors flicker and the external monitor go black if you try to draw using an Office app (such as Word). This can also happen with some other apps capable of drawing, such as Whiteboard. If you check in Device Manager, your graphics controller will have a warning icon next to it (a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

However, the external monitor should have a display again after a restart of Windows 10 Version 2004. Microsoft confirms this problem in Windows 10 version 2004 and is working to resolve the problem in a future version of the operating system. (via<\/a>)<\/p>\n
