Nested virtualization is a feature that allows you to run Hyper-V within a Hyper-V virtual machine (VM).

This is useful for running a Visual Studio phone emulator in a virtual machine or testing configurations that typically require multiple hosts. However, nested virtualization in Hyper-V was previously only available on systems with Intel CPUs (here it says: An Intel processor with VT-x and EPT technology — nesting is currently Intel-only).

Also available for AMD

But in a blog post announcing the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19645, Microsoft announced support for nested virtualization for AMD CPUs.

Support for Nested Virtualization on AMD processors is now available.
