I had reported about it in the blog post <a href=\"https:\/\/borncity.com\/win\/2020\/10\/07\/google-chrome-86-0-4240-75-erschienen\/\">Google Chrome 86.0.4240.75 released<\/a> appeared. Microsoft has updated Edge and Brave his browser too. There is now a bug in all browsers. <\/p>\n<h2>Suddenly debug.log files<\/h2>\n<p>Users on Windows find that Chromium 86 based browsers such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Chromium Edge can sporadically generate log files on the desktop and in various folders. Messages about this phenomenon can be found in the Microsoft Answers forum, as in <a href=\"https:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/forum\/all\/why-is-there-a-debug-file-on-my-computer-and-how\/de0c8d1c-6db6-437b-9173-aba72b512054?auth=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this thread<\/a>, where someone writes the following.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Why is there a debug file on my computer and how to I fix it<\/p>\n<p>In the debug file it says [1010\/132558.157:ERROR:directory_reader_win.cc(43)] FindFirstFile: The system cannot find the path specified. (0x3)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The user in question was using the Brave browser and wondered about the debug files, but could not name the cause. Other users report that the Edge also creates these log files. The thread already has five pages. Similar threads can be found on Microsoft Answers in the forum posts <a href=\"https:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/forum\/all\/debug-file-problem\/0ee98da9-e5c6-402d-9ac3-326c05988166\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/forum\/all\/debuglog-file-is-created-automatically-please-help\/c18d5bf1-89fd-4f9d-b232-56ed30882ddb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. Microsoft has published <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/answers\/questions\/122554\/debug-file-is-being-generated-automatically-whenev.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this post<\/a> about that issue. <\/p>\n<h2>An entry in the Chromium Bug Tracker<\/h2>\n<p>A user has reported this bug as <a href=\"https:\/\/bugs.chromium.org\/p\/chromium\/issues\/detail?id=1138853\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Issue 1138853: Chrome creates `debug.log` with error \"FindFirstFile: The system cannot find the path specified\"<\/a> on Oct. 15, 2020. He reported that since the update to version 86.0.4240.75, Chrome writes these log files under Windows 10, where their content is meaningless (see error description above).
