Also Windows event logs contains update error codes.<\/p>\n<h3>What does error codes like 0x80240001 means?<\/h3>\n<p>If Windows Update ends with an error code like 0x80240001 or\u00a0 0x80240002, it could be helpful to know the meaning of the error code. Error codes consists of eight hexadecimal digits. If the left four digits within an error code are 0x8024, this stands for an issue caused by Windows Update. The right four digits defining the cause for the error. All eigth digits defining an HRESULT error code. Error codes starting with 0x8024 are enlisted within Microsoft software developers reference under FACILITY_WINDOWSUPDATE (024).<\/p>\n<p>Error code 0x80240001 means <em>WU_E_NO_SERVICE, <i>Windows Update Agent was unable to provide the service <\/i><\/em>for instance<em><i><i><\/i>.
