Here are some details about the respective updates.<!--more--><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/vg05.met.vgwort.de\/na\/5eda6b320b4a4146962d5bb2b99eb7f0\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\">A list of the updates can be found on this <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/help\/4581839\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft website<\/a>. I have pulled out the details below. The update installation requires an existing current Servicing Stack Updates (SSUs). Meanwhile, Microsoft publishes an overview of current Servicing Stack Updates (SSUs) under ADV990001 (if it is not up to date, please check the Microsoft Update Catalog for Servicing Stack Updates).&nbsp; <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Important: From July 2020 all Windows updates disable the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-server\/virtualization\/hyper-v\/deploy\/deploy-graphics-devices-using-remotefx-vgpu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RemoteFX vGPU<\/a> feature due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/en-us\/vulnerability\/CVE-2020-1036\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">CVE-2020-1036<\/a> vulnerability (see also <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/help\/4570006\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">KB4570006<\/a>). After installing this update, attempts to start virtual machines (VM) with RemoteFX vGPU enabled will fail. In December 2020 Microsoft will suspend the rollout of preview updates.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Updates for Windows 10 Version 2004\/20H2<\/h2>\n<p>For the Windows 10 Version 2004 released in May 2020 as well as the Windows 10 Version 202H2 offered in October 2020 via update search, Microsoft provides the same update packages, which are listed below.  <\/p>\n<h3>Update KB4592438 of\u00fcr Windows 10 Version 2004\/20H2<\/h3>\n<p>Cumulative Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/4592438\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB4592438<\/a> raises the OS build to 19041.685 for Windows 10 version 2004 and to 19042.685 for Windows 10 version 20H2. The update is available for Windows 10 version 2004, Windows 10 version 20H2, Windows Server version 2004 and Windows Server version 20H2. It contains quality improvements but no new operating system features. Here is the list of improvements, called highlights by Microsoft:&nbsp; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Updates to improve security when using Microsoft Edge Legacy.\n<li>Updates to improve security when using Microsoft Office products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following fixes and improvements are also added:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Addresses a security vulnerability by preventing applications that run as a SYSTEM account from printing to \"FILE:\" ports. To address this issue in the future, make sure your applications or services run as a specific user or service account.\n<li>Security updates to Microsoft Edge Legacy, the Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Media, Windows Fundamentals, and Windows Virtualization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This update is automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update. This update is also available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a> and via WSUS. Microsoft strongly recommends that you install the latest service stack update (SSU) <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/help\/4593175\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB4593175<\/a> for your operating system before you install the latest cumulative update (LCU). For this update, Microsoft indicates that users of the Microsoft Input Method Editor (IME) for Chinese and Japanese may receive an error, or the application may stop responding or close when they try to drag the mouse. The certificate problem (see <a href=\"https:\/\/borncity.com\/win\/2020\/10\/28\/windows-10-vergisst-zertifikate-beim-upgrade\/\">Windows 10 forgets certificates during upgrade<\/a>) is also still present. Details can be found in <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/help\/4592438\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB4592438<\/a>. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Microsoft has also released an update directly for the Windows Update Client to improve its reliability. This is rolled out outside of Windows Update if the machine is compatible and not an LTSC variant and updates have not been blocked by GPO.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Updates for Windows 10 Version 190x<\/h2>\n<p>Microsoft provides the same update packages for the Windows 10 builds 1903 and 1909 released in 2019. The following updates are available for the Windows 10 May 2019 Update (Version 1903) and the Windows 10 November 2019 Update (Version 1909).  <\/p>\n<h3>Update KB4592449 for Windows 10 Version 190x<\/h3>\n<p>Cumulative Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/4592449\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB4592449<\/a> raises the OS build to 18362.1256 (Windows 10 V1903) or to 18363.1256 (Windows 10 V1909). The update is available for Windows 10 version 1903, for Windows 10 version 1909 and for Windows Server version 1903 and Windows Server version 1909. It contains quality improvements but no new operating system features. Here is the list of improvements, called highlights by Microsoft:&nbsp; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Updates to improve security when using Microsoft Edge Legacy.\n<li>Updates to improve security when using Microsoft Office products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Added the following fixes and improvements to Windows 10 version 1909, which are identical to version 1903 (update is also available for the Hololens)  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Addresses a security vulnerability by preventing applications that run as a SYSTEM account from printing to \"FILE:\" ports. To address this issue in the future, make sure your applications or services run as a specific user or service account.\n<li>Security updates to Microsoft Edge Legacy, the Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Media, Windows Fundamentals, and Windows Virtualization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This update is automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update. This update is also available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/home.aspx\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a> and via WSUS. For this update, Microsoft specifies the above-mentioned certificate issue, which is documented in K<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/help\/4592449\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB4592449<\/a>. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Microsoft has also released an update directly for the Windows Update Client to improve its reliability. This is rolled out outside of Windows Update if the machine is compatible and not an LTSC variant and updates have not been blocked by GPO.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Updates for Windows 10 Version 1809<\/h2>\n<p>The following updates are available for Windows 10 October 2018 Update (Version 1809) and Windows Server 2019.  <\/p>\n<h3>Update KB4592440 for Windows 10 Version 1809<\/h3>\n<p>Cumulative Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/4592440\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB4592440<\/a> raises raises the OS build (according to MS) to 17763.1637 and includes quality improvements but no new operating system features. Here is the list of improvements, called highlights by Microsoft:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Updates to improve security when using Microsoft Edge Legacy.\n<li>Updates to improve security when using Microsoft Office products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following fixes and improvements to the Windows version are added: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Addresses a security vulnerability by preventing applications that run as a SYSTEM account from printing to \"FILE:\" ports. To address this issue in the future, make sure your applications or services run as a specific user or service account.\n<li>Security updates to Microsoft Edge Legacy, the Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Media, Windows Fundamentals, and Windows Virtualization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This update is automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update, but is also available in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a>. Microsoft strongly recommends that you install the latest service stack update (SSU) for your operating system before you install the latest cumulative update (LCU). Microsoft lists the known issue that the update causes. When you install the update, you may receive the error 0x800f0982 &#8211; PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND Also the Edge Browser may crash. There is also the driver problem mentioned for Windows 10 2004. Details can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/help\/4592440\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB article<\/a>.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<h2>Updates for Windows 10 Version 1507 till 1803<\/h2>\n<p>For Windows 10 RTM up to version 1803, various updates are available for the LTSC versions and, if necessary, the Enterprise versions. The Home and Pro versions on the other hand have been dropped from support. These updates are automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update, but are available for download in the  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/home.aspx\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a> (search for the KB number). Before manual installation, the latest Servicing Stack Update (SSU) must be installed. Details can be found in the respective KB article.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Windows 10 Version 1803:<\/strong> Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/4592446\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB4592446<\/a> is only available for Enterprise and Education. The update raises the OS build to 17134.1902.&nbsp;\n<li><strong>Windows 10 Version 1703:<\/strong> Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/help\/4592473\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB4592473<\/a> is only available for the Surface Hub. The update raises the OS build to 15063.2554.\n<li><strong>Windows 10 Version 1607:<\/strong> Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/4593226\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB4593226<\/a> is only available for Enterprise LTSC. The update raises the OS build to 14393.4104.\n<li><strong>Windows 10 Version 1507:<\/strong> Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/\/help\/4592464\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KB4592464<\/a> is available for the RTM version (LTSC). The update raises the OS build to 10240.18782. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There was no update for the remaining Windows 10 versions, because these versions were dropped from support.
