This is a maintenance update for the 78 main version of the email client, which fixes bugs and closes security holes.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/vg05.met.vgwort.de\/na\/59e40abb4be841689aa183b28edbdcbc\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/78.6.0\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release notes<\/a> the only new feature is: MailExtensions: Added browser.windows.openDefaultBrowser(). In addition there are the following changes:&nbsp; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thunderbird now only displays quota overrun notices in the main window\n<li>MailExtensions: Menu API enabled in messages that are currently being composed\n<li>MailExtensions:Honor allowScriptsToClose argument in windows.create API function\n<li>MailExtensions: APIs that return an accountId reflect the account the message belongs to, not what is stored in the message headers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, the following bug fixes were made:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keyboard shortcut to toggle message status \"read\" is not displayed in menus <\/li>\n<li>OpenPGP: After importing a secret key, the key manager displayed the properties of the wrong key <\/li>\n<li>OpenPGP: Improvements in inline PGP parsing <\/li>\n<li>OpenPGP: Online determination of keys via Key Manager sometimes failed under Linux <\/li>\n<li>OpenPGP: Encrypted attachment \"Decrypt and Open\/Save as\" did not work <\/li>\n<li>OpenPGP: Importing keys failed under macOS <\/li>\n<li>OpenPGP: Verification of clearly signed UTF-8 text failed <\/li>\n<li>Address Book: Some columns incorrectly displayed no data <\/li>\n<li>Address Book: Address Book view was not updated after changing the name format in the menu <\/li>\n<li>Calendar: An ICS file could not be imported into a CalDAV calendar <\/li>\n<li>Calendar: In a new profile two \"Home\" calendars were visible <\/li>\n<li>Calendar: Dark theme was incomplete on Linux <\/li>\n<li>Dark theme was not applied to popups for new email notifications <\/li>\n<li>Folder icon, message list and sidebar for contacts visually improved <\/li>\n<li>MailExtensions: HTTP refresh in browser content tabs did not work <\/li>\n<li>MailExtensions: messageDisplayScripts could not be executed in the main window<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, there are some closed vulnerabilities, which are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2020-56\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">documented here<\/a>. Unresolved is the problem that Thunderbird runs sluggishly under macOS Big Sur. <\/p>\n<h2>System requirements<\/h2>\n<p>The system requirements for the different operating system versions (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/78.0\/system-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also<\/a>): <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher\n<li>Mac: Mac OS X 10.9 or higher\n<li>Linux: GTK+ 3.4 or higher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The download is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.
