Intel has released an update for its WiFi/Bluetooth driver to version 22.30.0, which is supposed to fix the BSOD problem under Windows 10. In addition, a WLAN detection problem is said to have been fixed because wireless adapters may not be able to connect to 5GHz networks.

Once again Intel and its drivers, which are a continuous source of problems in Windows 10 (see links at the end of the article). Some Windows 10 users probably suffered from sporadic blue screens triggered by the Intel WLAN/Bluetooth driver. Now Intel has updated its Wi-Fi (WLAN) and Bluetooth driver for Windows 10 to version 22.30.0. I had already seen this at the colleagues of deskmodder.de. Normally I won't mentioned such updates, but the colleagues from Bleeping Computer have persuaded me with this article to take a closer look at the changelog.

Intel WiFi-/Bluetooth driver update with fixes

The Intel WiFi/Bluetooth driver update is available in version 22.30.0 for Windows 10 according to the release notes for the following Intel Dual Band Wireless adapters.

Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 (Gig+)

Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX201

Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200

Intel® Wireless-AC 9560

Intel® Wireless-AC 9461/ 9462 I

Intel® Wireless-AC 9260

Version 22.30.0 of the Intel WiFi/Bluetooth driver according to the release notes a whole bunch of bugs in Windows 10, including a stop error (BSOD) that can occur in rare cases.

Wireless adapters might not be able to connect to 5GHz networks.

If a system is connected to an access point through channel 165 and the Windows 10 mobile hotspot feature is enabled and sharing the 5GHz network, the mobile hotspot network is not visible to other systems in the WLAN scan list.

Windows Stop Errors (BSOD) may occur that are related to the Intel Wireless driver.

The release notes for Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® 22.30.0 list the following bugs as resolved:

On some systems, audio dropouts may occur during an HFP voice call.

Some devices may experience audio dropouts during a Microsoft team call.

Occasionally, the Bluetooth LE mouse may stop working.

The Intel® PROSet/Wireless software 22.30.0 update also includes functional and security fixes that Intel does not specify.Intel encourages users to update the driver to the latest version.
