Via above tweet, I became aware of the issue that Microsoft Defender for Endpoint may have startup issues on Windows Server 2019 or Windows Server 2022.<\/p>\n

Microsoft has posted a related message<\/a> in the Windows Server 2022 Health Dashboard, but it applies in a similar form to Windows Server 2019.<\/p>\n

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint might fail to start or run<\/p>\n

After installing KB5007205<\/a> or later updates, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint might fail to start or run on devices with a Windows Server Core installation. Note: This issue does not affect Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on Windows 10.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Microsoft specifies Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2019 as affected. For Windows Server 2019, however, update KB5007206<\/a> or a newer update is responsible for this problem. Microsoft is working on a solution and will release it with a further update. <\/p>\n
