Thanks to the blog readers for pointing out the updates.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Firefox 95.0.0<\/h2>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/firefox\/95.0\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release notes<\/a>, version 95.0.0 brings some new features as well as bug fixes and security fixes. Here's a rough overview of what's new:&nbsp; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/hacks.mozilla.org\/2021\/12\/webassembly-and-back-again-fine-grained-sandboxing-in-firefox-95\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RLBox<\/a> &#8211; a new technology that protects Firefox against potential vulnerabilities in third-party libraries &#8211; is now enabled on all platforms.\n<li>Firefox can now be downloaded from the Store for Windows 10 and 11.\n<li>In macOS and Window Server, CPU usage during event processing by Firefox has been reduced.\n<li>Power consumption of software-decoded videos on macOS has been reduced, especially in full-screen mode. This includes streaming sites such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.\n<li>To better protect Firefox users from side-channel attacks like Spectre, Site Isolation is now enabled for all Firefox 95 users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Furthermore, there are bug fixes in the new Firefox, which the developers describe with the following notes:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After launching Firefox, users of the JAWS screen reader and ZoomText Magnifier no longer need to switch applications to access Firefox.\n<li>The status of controls that use the ARIA Switch role is now correctly reported by Mac OS VoiceOver.\n<li>Launching content processes on macOS will now be faster.\n<li>Memory allocation improvements have been made.\n<li>Page loading performance has been improved by speculatively compiling JavaScript in advance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The developers added a user agent override for Slack.com, which allows Firefox users to use more call features and have access to huddles. In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2021-52\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some vulnerabilities<\/a> rated high, such as Heap Buffer Overflow, have been fixed in the new version.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<h2>Firefox 91.4.0esr<\/h2>\n<p>An update of Firefox 91.4.0esr with one year of long-term support with the same fixed vulnerabilities was also provided in each case. <\/p>\n<p>The new Firefox and the ESR variants can be downloaded from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/de\/firefox\/all\/#product-desktop-release\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this website<\/a> for various platforms (the variant is to be selected via the displayed list boxes).&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[German]Mozilla developers have released version 95.0.0 with some new features and 91.4.0esr of the Firefox browser with a fix rated High as of December 7, 2021.
