As a result of this attack (I assume Ramsomware), newspapers could no longer be published in paper form and advertisements were also no longer placed – the systems concerned are completely down. Here is a rough overview of what is known.<\/p>\n

On the night of Tuesday, December 28, several of Amedia's central data systems were taken out of operation. This meant that no printed newspapers could be published. The reason for this is that the systems for publishing newspapers on paper, advertisements and subscriber management do not work as usual. <\/p>\n

Currently, the extent of the damage is unclear, but it is certain that there was a cyber attack from outside. Some systems are likely affected and out of service. \"We are in the process of getting an overview of the situation, but do not yet know the full extent of the damage. We have already taken extensive measures to limit the damage and restore normal operations as quickly as possible,\" says P\u00e5l Nedregotten, director of technology.<\/p>\n

The problems are limited to the systems managed by Amedia's central IT company, Amedia Teknologi. Amedia's other systems are functioning as usual. The Record has published some more information about this here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
