These updates are required to address vulnerabilities reported by external security partners and found through Microsoft's internal processes. The updates apply to the Exchange Server on-premises installations listed below.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/vg04.met.vgwort.de\/na\/e1d57d10e1c1499cbc7b34504d570d01\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\">The March 2022 Exchange Server security updates address vulnerabilities reported by security partners and found through Microsoft's internal processes. Microsoft has published the Techcommunity post <a href=\"https:\/\/techcommunity.microsoft.com\/t5\/exchange-team-blog\/released-march-2022-exchange-server-security-updates\/ba-p\/3247586\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Released: March 2022 Exchange Server Security Updates<\/a> with a description of the security updates.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/schnoll\/status\/1501259046799638530\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Exchange Server March 2022) Security Updates\" alt=\"Exchange Server (March 2022) Security Updates\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/elo0Rba.png\"><\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>And on Twitter I came across the above notice. Security updates are available for the following Exchange Server CU versions.  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exchange Server 2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?familyID=ad904d7c-3c77-4585-a534-9f1505ad1ec4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CU23<\/a>\n<li>Exchange Server 2016 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?familyID=33f4b4dd-47a3-45f0-ae7e-367d3a17c5e0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CU21<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?familyID=6c9f45ac-54ca-4342-bd27-e284412bf518\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CU22<\/a>\n<li>Exchange Server 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?familyID=a29a33c1-e1b3-4abc-88e6-fc707a0f80f1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CU10<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?familyID=819d3453-4d0e-442e-976b-711ad8f50c97\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CU11<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The March 2022 updates close the two vulnerabilities rated as critical.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2022-23277\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CVE-2022-23277 | Microsoft Exchange Server Remote Code Execution Vulnerability<\/a>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2022-24463\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CVE-2022-24463 | Microsoft Exchange Server Spoofing Vulnerability<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although Microsoft is not aware of any active exploits in the wild, it is recommended to install these updates immediately. The fixed vulnerabilities affect on-premises Microsoft Exchange Server as well as servers used by customers in Exchange Hybrid mode. Exchange Online customers are already protected and do not need to take any action. Although Microsoft is not aware of any active exploits in the wild, the vendor recommends installing these updates immediately to protect the Exchange installation. <\/p>\n<p>If the security updates are installed manually, it is mandatory to start this process from an administrative prompt.
