These are the updates (see Microsoft Office Updates (June 7, 2022)):

KB5002182: Microsoft Office 2016

KB4484104: Microsoft Office 2016

Update KB4484104 resolves an issue where opening files from the Windows Start menu or Office Online may revert to opening in read-only mode.

Update KB4484104 causes issues

However, something seems to have gone wrong with this fix by update KB4484104. And this since the named update. It occurs sporadically, but always has the same error message.

A rogue who thinks it would be again a further drop to force the customers into Office 365 subscription.

I haven't found any other hits on a quick internet search so far. Question in the round: are there any readers who can also observe and confirm this behavior? And if so, any additional insights?

[German]After the release of the June 2022 updates for Microsoft Office 2016, blog readers have left some reports about issues within my German blog.
