It's a bug-fix update that should fix a number of issues.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Thunderbird 102.4.2<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vg01.met.vgwort.de\/na\/a6bb264c48c246f39ab1b307bcc1c1b9\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>According to the Thunderbird <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/102.4.2\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release notes<\/a>, the following change was made in this version:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Address Book button in Account Management now creates a CardDAV address book instead of a local address book.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition, there are fixes to the following bugs, which are listed as fixed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Messages fetched from POP server in \"Fetch headers only\" mode disappeared when moved to another folder by a filter action<\/li>\n<li>Thunderbird re-downloaded locally deleted messages from a POP server when \"Leave messages on server\" and \"Until I delete them\" were enabled<\/li>\n<li>Multiple password prompts could appear for the same POP account<\/li>\n<li>IMAP authentication failed on next startup if the ImapMail folder was deleted by the user<\/li>\n<li>Retrieving passwords for authenticated NNTP accounts could fail on every startup due to outdated settings in a user's profile<\/li>\n<li>Get Next n Messages did not always retrieve all messages requested from the NNTP server<\/li>\n<li>Get Messages button could not retrieve messages from the NNTP server if the root folder was not selected<\/li>\n<li>Thunderbird text branding did not always match the locale of the localized version<\/li>\n<li>Thunderbird installer and Thunderbird updater created Windows shortcuts with different names<\/li>\n<li>LDAP search filters did not work with non-ASCII characters<\/li>\n<li>The highlighting of \"Today\" in the month view of the calendar was not updated after a date change at midnight<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The system requirements for the different operating system versions (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/91.0\/system-requirements\/\">here<\/a> for more details):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows: Windows 7 or higher<\/li>\n<li>Mac: Mac OS X 10.12 or higher<\/li>\n<li>Linux: GTK+ 3.14 or higher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The download of the free Thunderbird is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>TTip: Going back to an old Thunderbird version after updating to a newer version is rejected when the profile is updated (see <a href=\"https:\/\/support.mozilla.org\/de\/kb\/alte-thunderbird-version-startet-nicht-mit-profil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also<\/a>). I fell into this trap some time ago.
