It's a bug-fix update that should fix a number of issues and also some vulnerabilities.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Thunderbird 102.5.0<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vg01.met.vgwort.de\/na\/a6bb264c48c246f39ab1b307bcc1c1b9\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>According to the Thunderbird <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/102.4.2\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release notes<\/a>, the following change was introduced in this version:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Ctrl+N creates a shortcut to create new contacts from the restored address book.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition, there are fixes to the following bugs, which are listed as fixed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Account settings user interface was not updated to reflect changes in default identity<\/li>\n<li>New POP mail notifications were incorrectly displayed for messages marked as read or junk by filters<\/li>\n<li>When connecting to an IMAP server configured to use PREAUTH, Thunderbird would hang<\/li>\n<li>Erroneous replies from NNTP servers received in the greeting header did not display an error message<\/li>\n<li>Messages sent with \"Send later\" were not sent after coming back online<\/li>\n<li>With \"Download\/sync now&#8230;\" not all newsgroups were fully synchronized before the system went offline<\/li>\n<li>When logging in to the news server failed, the username was missing in the error dialog<\/li>\n<li>Thunderbird can now retrieve RSS channel feeds with an incomplete channel URL<\/li>\n<li>Add-on \"Contribute\" button in the Add-ons manager did not work<\/li>\n<li>Help text for \/part Matrix command was not correct<\/li>\n<li>Invite Participant dialog did not fetch free\/busy information for participants with encoded characters in their name<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A list of fixed vulnerabilities may be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2022-49\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.\u00a0The system requirements for the different operating system versions (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/91.0\/system-requirements\/\">here<\/a> for more details):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows: Windows 7 or higher<\/li>\n<li>Mac: Mac OS X 10.12 or higher<\/li>\n<li>Linux: GTK+ 3.14 or higher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The download of the free Thunderbird is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Tip: Going back to an old Thunderbird version after updating to a newer version is rejected when the profile is updated (see <a href=\"https:\/\/support.mozilla.org\/de\/kb\/alte-thunderbird-version-startet-nicht-mit-profil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also<\/a>). I fell into this trap some time ago.
