These periods marks the end of Android support.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>All support periods has been published at <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/nexus\/answer\/4457705?hl=en#nexus_devices\" target=\"_blank\">this Google support page<\/a>, titled as 'Minimum update &amp; support periods'. Here are the support perions for Nexus devices.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/nexus\/answer\/4457705?hl=en#nexus_devices\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Nexus-Supportfristen\" alt=\"Nexus-Supportfristen\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/03dddDA.jpg\" width=\"641\" height=\"793\"><\/a><br \/>(Source: Google)<\/p>\n<p>Older devices up to Nexus 5 are out of support, and support for Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 ends Oktober 2017. The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P devices will be supported until September 2018. And below are the support periods for the current Pixel handsets.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/nexus\/answer\/4457705?hl=en#nexus_devices\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Pixel Supportfristen\" alt=\"Pixel Supportfristen\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/gnm3iWR.jpg\" width=\"618\" height=\"305\"><\/a>(Source: Google)<\/p>\n<p>Pixel Smartphones are receiving new Android versions until October 2018, and security updates until October 2019. So it's 2 years for Android updates and 3 years for security updates \u2013 to short for Tablet PCs and high end handsets \u2013 in my opinion. The only advantage: Google's reference devises are receiving a good LineageOS support.
