It is a bug fix update, which should eliminate errors and a vulnerability.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vg04.met.vgwort.de\/na\/c0b127459ec74486961e185f3e38c73a\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>Ihad not addressed it here on the blog, as it had not yet shipped via update &#8211; but the developers shipped Thunderbird 115 (Supernova) with a new interface earlier this week. As of July 20, 2023 had to be followed up with the first bug fix and security update. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/115.0.1\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release notes<\/a>, the 115 branch is currently only delivered via direct download. The update to version 115.0.1 provides the following change:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Thunderbird Supernova-Branding zu about:dialog hinzugef\u00fcgt<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition, the following fixes are made:<\/p>\n<aside id=\"note-1\" class=\"flex flex-row flex-wrap items-center bg-white shadow-md mb-4 rounded\">\n<aside class=\"flex-1 p-3 font-md leading-normal markup-page no-padding\">\n<ul>\n<li>Message list was not updated when message was deleted from server outside of Thunderbird<\/li>\n<li>Scrolling behaved unexpectedly when moving to next message unread message in another folder<\/li>\n<li>Scrolling animation was unnecessarily used when switching or toggling the sort column in message list<\/li>\n<li>Attempting to delete a message and then cancelling the action still marked the message as read<\/li>\n<li>Unified Toolbar could not be customized under certain tabs<\/li>\n<li>Selecting a folder with one or more subfolders and pressing enter did not expand folder<\/li>\n<li>Tooltips did not appear when hovering over folders<\/li>\n<li>Deleting large amounts of messages from Trash folder consumed excessive time and memory<\/li>\n<li>Message Summary header buttons were not keyboard accessible<\/li>\n<li>\"New\" button in Message Filters dialog was not keyboard accessible<\/li>\n<li>Backing up secret keys from OpenPGP Key Manager dialog silently failed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, various visual and UX improvements have been made. Furthermore, the update fixes the security vulnerabilities described on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2023-27\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The system requirements for the different operating system versions (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/102.0\/system-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> for more details):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows: Windows 7 or higher<\/li>\n<li>Mac: Mac OS X 10.12 or higher<\/li>\n<li>Linux: GTK+ 3.14 or higher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The download of the free Thunderbird is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<\/aside>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[German]The developers of Thunderbird have already released another update of the email client to version 115.0.1 on July 20, 2023.
