It is a new development branch that also contains security fixes.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vg09.met.vgwort.de\/na\/b9d5726e8bba453488df4b3af4c1e79c\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>The following new features of Firefox 121.0 are listed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/firefox\/121.0\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release notes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Firefox now prompts Windows users to install the Microsoft AV1 Video Extension to enable hardware decoding support for the AV1 video codec from <em>about:support<\/em> if not already installed.<\/li>\n<li>Firefox now supports voice control commands on macOS systems.<\/li>\n<li>On Linux, Firefox now uses the Wayland compositor by default when available, instead of XWayland. This brings support for touchpad and touchscreen gestures, swipe-to-nav, per-monitor DPI settings, better graphics performance, and more.\n<p>Note that due to Wayland protocol limitations, picture-in-picture windows require additional user interaction (usually a right-click on the window) or customization of the shell\/desktop environment. See Bug 1621261 for related discussion and tracking, this post for a KDE configuration, and this extension for GNOME.<\/li>\n<li>Firefox can now force links to always be underlined. This option can be activated in the browsing section of the Firefox settings menu.<\/li>\n<li>Screenshot of the new option <em>Always underline links<\/em><\/li>\n<li>The PDF viewer now includes a floating button to make it easier to delete drawings, text and images in PDFs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The developers list \"various security fixes\", which are described on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2023-56\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this Mozilla page<\/a>. There are several vulnerabilities described as high.
