Firefox 123 is a new development branch. Here is a brief overview of the updates in question, including the fixes and new features.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Firefox 123.0<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vg05.met.vgwort.de\/na\/40406d20da5f418d84dbce1c396bb840\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>Firefox 122 is a new development branch which, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/firefox\/123.0\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release notes<\/a>, has a number of new features. For example, the search function has been integrated into the Firefox view. Users can now search all tabs on the subpages of the individual sections: \"Recently browsed\", \"Open tabs\", \"Recently closed tabs\", \"Tabs from other devices\" or \"History\".<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Are there problems with a website in Firefox, but the website seems to work as expected in another browser? Then users can inform the developer via the web compatibility reporting tool.<\/p>\n<p>As a fix, the developers report that text in tooltips (i.e. titles) and text in form controls (i.e. placeholders) is now also translated when translating web pages. The following changes are also listed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Address bar settings can now be found in the Firefox Settings' Search section.<\/li>\n<li>Improved PGO optimizations for macOS ARM64 and Android<\/li>\n<li>Off-main-thread canvas on macOS, Linux and Android<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Several vulnerabilities rated as high have been closed in Firefox 123 (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2024-05\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>). Firefox should update itself automatically, but can be downloaded from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/de\/firefox\/all\/#product-desktop-release\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this website<\/a> for various platforms (the variant can be selected via the list fields displayed).<\/p>\n<h2>Firefox 115.8 ESR<\/h2>\n<p>This is a maintenance update for Firefox. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/firefox\/115.8.0\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release notes<\/a>, the vulnerabilities described <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2024-06\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> have been fixed in Firefox 115.8 ESR.
