This provides new features and fixes for this Windows version. I had published corresponding information in the blog post Windows 11 23H2/22H2: Preview Update KB5039302 (June 25, 2024). In the comments on this update, German readers are already noting some bugs.

Update KB5039302 suspended

Reader EP noted here that this update has been suspended due to bugs. There it has been noticed that Microsoft has already published the support article The June non-security preview update might cause devices to restart repeatedly in the Known Issues of the Windows 11 Healt Status Dashboard on June 26, 2024.

After installing the update KB5039302 (or a subsequent update), some devices may no longer start, Microsoft writes. Affected systems may restart repeatedly and require recovery operations to restore normal use.

This issue is more likely to affect devices that use virtual machine tools and nested virtualization features, such as CloudPC, DevBox, Azure Virtual Desktop. Microsoft developers are currently investigating the exact conditions under which this issue may be triggered. Windows 11 version 22H2 – 23H2 are affected. Microsoft is working on a solution and plans to provide an update in one of the next versions.

Similar articles:
Office Updates (June 4, 2024)
Microsoft Security Update Summary (June 11, 2024)
Patchday: Windows 10/Server-Updates (June 11, 2024)
Patchday: Windows 11/Server 2022-Updates (June 11, 2024)
Windows Server 2012 / R2 und Windows 7 (June 11, 2024)
Microsoft Office Updates (June 11, 2024)

Windows 10 22H2 Preview Update KB5039299 (June 25, 2024)
Windows 11 23H2/22H2: Preview Update KB5039302 (June 25, 2024)

[German]Microsoft has suspended the distribution of the optional cumulative (preview) update 5039302 for Windows 11 version 22H2 and 23H2 released on June 25, 2024.
