On November 4, 2024, Paint 3D will no longer be supported by Microsoft and will no longer receive updates. Paint 3D: A short life<\/h2>\n

But let's come back to Paint 3D, which was introduced in October 2016 as the ultimate innovation in the Windows 10 Creators Update (see Windows 10 \"Creators Update\" kommt 2017 \u2013 3D f\u00fcr Alle<\/a>).<\/p>\n

It was already clear to me that stuff like Paint 3D would only have a short life when Mixed Reality was discontinued by Microsoft (see Microsoft declares Windows \"Mixed Reality\" \u2013 and also Defender Application Guard for Edge as deprecated<\/a>). In June 2021, Microsoft then announced that Paint 3D would disappear as a feature in Windows 11 (see Windows 11: These features disappear<\/a>). Although the apps should not be removed during upgrades, they will be missing on new devices with Windows 11 or when reinstalling the operating system. But the apps were still available for download in Windows store.<\/p>\n

EOL for Paint 3D<\/h2>\n

Now neowin.net has noticed<\/a> the retirement of Paint 3D. The following tweet<\/a> indicates that Paint 3D now shows a banner stating that it will no longer receive updates from November 4, 2024 and will no longer be available in the Microsoft Store.<\/p>\n

That's probably it for this great achievement from the Microsoft forge. At least MS Paint remains on board as a mickey-painting program. Anyone from the readership who misses Paint 3D?<\/p>\n
