Both the successor to the former Twitter, x.com, was down for hours (there is said to have been a DDoS attack). Microsoft's cloud services also still seem to be experiencing disruptions, as readers have reported. However, I was unable to react earlier as I was out and about all day – so I didn't notice any of the disruptions.

Service disruption at Microsoft 365

In the Microsoft Cloud, users and Microsoft supporters have been struggling with service disruptions since March 1, 2025. On Facebook, there was yesterday a feedback to one of my posts about the disruptions on March 6, 2025 that "various services are running extremely slowly again today" [i.e. March 10] or are not available at all.

A German blog reader had also posted a reference to all disruptions in this comment on March 10, 2025, 11:05 a.m. I went to the German site of downdetectory.com afterwards – there were disruption reports for Microsoft 365 all day.

German blog reader Benjamin S. also contacted me by email at around 1:31 p.m. on March 10, 2025 and wrote that there were problems with Microsoft's cloud services in his IT environment. An employee complained that she could no longer log in to Microsoft SharePoint. Microsoft SharePoint reported that there was no authorization and denied the login.

The solution in this case was for the IT staff to remove the read authorization for the account and then set it again. Then the login worked again. Did you have similar problems or did everything run smoothly? The number of malfunction reports at allestörungen.de is not particularly high for me?

x.com as down too

The short message service x.com, now in the hands of Elon Musk, also seems to have service disruptions on March 10, 2025. I rarely use this service during the daytime and (partly because I was traveling yesterday) didn't notice anything. However, numerous media outlets have reported problems. I had a look afterwards and found the following graphic.

There seem to be two major disruptions throughout the day. Some media wrote about a DDoS attack, which Elon Musk confirmed (see the following tweet).

There are daily attacks, but the attack hours ago seems to have used massive resources. Users then published the following post on X by a Russian-speaking "Dark Storm Team", who allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack.

Elon Musk later gave an interview on Fox News (mentioned here), where he said that "we are still not sure exactly what happened, but the attack originated from IP addresses in the Ukraine". I would be cautious here in the context of the X.com owner, as on the one hand IP addresses can be disguised and on the other hand Elon Musk, as the head of DOGE with close ties to the US government, may be pursuing his own agenda.

Addendum: Apart from x.com, there seems to be some functional movement at BlueSky again, as I just read in this The Verge article.

Similar articles:
Microsoft 365 Störung (1.
