From June 2025, Microsoft will be migrating this service to a new Content Delivery Network (CDN). There will also be a new domain under which Microsoft SharePoint Online will be accessible.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft already announced this at the beginning of May 2025 under the ID <a href=\"https:\/\/mc.merill.net\/message\/MC1066155\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MC1066155<\/a> (<em>Microsoft SharePoint Online: [Important update] Enabling a new Public Content Delivery Network (CDN) domain<\/em>) in the Microsoft 365 Message Center.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mc.merill.net\/message\/MC1066155\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.postimg.cc\/Bv3sGCGS\/image.png\" alt=\"Microsoft SharePoint Online CDN Migration\" width=\"640\" height=\"440\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft will migrate the hosting of Microsoft SharePoint Online assets to a new CDN (Content Delivery Network) service, Microsoft Azure Front Door (AFD). This migration will begin in June 2025 and end in July 2025.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this migration, Microsoft is introducing a new public CDN domain <em>public-cdn.sharepointonline.com<\/em>. Organizations should add the new domain public-<em>cdn.sharepointonline.com<\/em> to their allowlist on the network.<\/p>\n<p>If domain-based allowlists are enabled in the network configurations, ensure that the new <em>public-cdn.sharepointonline.com<\/em> domain is also included.\u00a0The hardcoding of CDN URLs must be avoided and the old domain must continue to be allowed until revoked by Microsoft.
