Here are some details about these updates, which are intended to fix vulnerabilities and issues.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vg04.met.vgwort.de\/na\/92fd33a49c444ef2bf3589f65669a4d6\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>Details about the security vulnerabilities closed by the updates are described in the article <a href=\"https:\/\/borncity.com\/win\/2025\/08\/13\/patchday-windows-10-11-updates-august-12-2025\/\">Microsoft Security Update Summary (August 12, 2025)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Updates for Windows 11<\/h2>\n<p>A list of Windows 11 updates can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/topic\/windows-11-version-24h2-update-history-0929c747-1815-4543-8461-0160d16f15e5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this Microsoft website<\/a>. I have extracted the details below. Microsoft now provides the following updates for the above-mentioned Windows 11 version.<\/p>\n<h3>Update KB5063878 for Windows 11 24H2<\/h3>\n<p>Cumulative Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/5063878\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KB5063878<\/a> includes quality improvements and security patches. This update makes various security improvements to internal operating system features. Microsoft lists some details about the fixes in its support article<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b class=\"ocpLegacyBold\">[Authentication]<\/b>\u00a0Fixed:\u00a0This update addresses an issue that caused delays during sign-in on new devices. The delay was due to certain preinstalled packages.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition, several AI components were rolled out with the update. The Windows 11 Servicing Stack Update is integrated into the patch. Any issues caused by the update are listed in the support article.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Important: Prerequisite for installation is that the CheckPoint update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/5043080\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KB5043080<\/a> from September 10, 2024 is installed (see also my article <a href=\"https:\/\/borncity.com\/win\/2025\/02\/27\/windows-11-24h2-update-kb5051987-fails-with-installation-error-0x800f0838\/\">Windows 11 24H2: Update KB5051987 fails with installation error 0x800F0838<\/a> from February 2025).<\/p>\n<p>Addendum: There are reports about install errors caused by Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/5063878\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KB5063878<\/a>. I've addressed this issue and a possible workaround at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/borncity.com\/win\/2025\/08\/13\/windows-11-24h2-update-kb5063878-causes-installation-error-0x80240069\/\">Windows 11 24H2: Update KB5063878 causes installation error 0x80240069<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Update KB5063875 for Windows 11 22H2-23H2<\/h3>\n<p>Cumulative Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/5062552\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KB5063875<\/a> contains quality improvements and security patches. Microsoft lists the following fixes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b class=\"ocpLegacyBold\">[Copilot]<\/b>\u00a0Fixed: Improved the Copilot key's reliability and resolved an issue that prevented users from restarting Copilot after using the key.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This update is automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update, but is also available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a><\/p>\n<p>and via WSUS and WUfB. The Windows 11 Servicing Stack Update is integrated into the patch. Any problems caused by the update, if known, are listed in the support article.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Windows 11 Version 22H2 Home and Pro are no longer supported. The Enterprise and Education versions will continue to receive security updates.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Updates for Windows 10<\/h2>\n<p>A list of updates can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/topic\/windows-10-update-history-8127c2c6-6edf-4fdf-8b9f-0f7be1ef3562\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this Microsoft website<\/a>. I have extracted the details below.<\/p>\n<h3>Update KB5063709 for Windows 10 Version 21H2 &#8211; 22H2<\/h3>\n<p>Cumulative Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/5063709-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KB5063709<\/a> contains various security fixes. Only the Enterprise, Education, and IoT versions are still supported in version 21H2.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft points out that this update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack (which is responsible for Microsoft updates). This update is automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update, but is also available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a> and via WSUS and WUfB. Please note the installation instructions (required SSU) and any known issues described in the support article.<\/p>\n<h3>Update KB5063877 for Windows 10 Enterprise 2019 LTS<\/h3>\n<p>Cumulative Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/5063877\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KB5063877<\/a> (sorted under Windows 10 v1809, but refers to Windows 10 2019 Enterprise LTSC and IoT Enterprise LTSC) and includes security fixes. It also includes the following improvements:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b class=\"ocpLegacyBold\">[Input and Composition]<\/b>\u00a0Fixed: A known\u00a0issue with the Microsoft Changjie Input Method. Users were unable to select words after a recent update.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The update is automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update, but is also available in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a>, via WSUS, and WUfB. Microsoft has also updated the Service Stack Update (SSU). Please note the installation requirements and information about potential issues described in the support article.<\/p>\n<h3>Updates for Windows 10 Versionen 1507 and 1607<\/h3>\n<p>Updates for the Enterprise LTSC versions are available for Windows 10 RTM and version 1607. These updates are automatically downloaded and installed by Windows Update, but are also available for download from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a> (search by KB number). Before manual installation, the latest Servicing Stack Update (SSU) must be installed. Details can be found in the respective KB article.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Windows 10 Version 1607:<\/strong> Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/5063871\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KB5063871<\/a> is now only available for Enterprise LTSC and Windows Server 2016. The update addresses security issues and contains fixes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Windows 10 Version 1507:<\/strong> Update <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/help\/5063889\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KB5063889<\/a> is available for the RTM version (LTSC). The update addresses security issues and contains a fix.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For these two updates, the installation requirements listed in the support articles and any known issues that may be specified must also be taken into account.<\/p>\n<p>There was no update for the remaining Windows 10 versions, as these versions are no longer supported.
