Apart from minor improvements there are several security fixes. The maintainers of the distribution strongly recommend to upgrade to this version. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>What's Tails?<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/ssl-vg03.met.vgwort.de\/na\/1e54705982dd4999b046e2eb558b30d5\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\">Tails is a <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Debian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Debian<\/a> based Linux distribution, and the abbreviation Tails stands for <em>The Amnesic Incognito Live System<\/em>. Tails is a live operating system that you can start on almost any computer from a USB stick or a DVD. It aims at preserving your privacy and anonymity, and helps you to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>use the Internet anonymously<\/strong> and <strong>circumvent censorship<\/strong>;<br \/>all connections to the Internet are forced to go through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.torproject.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Tor network<\/a>;\n<li><strong>leave no trace<\/strong> on the computer you are using unless you ask it explicitly;\n<li><strong>use state-of-the-art cryptographic tools<\/strong> to encrypt your files, emails and instant messaging.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tails comes with several built-in applications pre-configured with security in mind: web browser, instant messaging client, email client, office suite, image and sound editor, etc. Further details may be found at this <a href=\"https:\/\/tails.boum.org\/index.en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tails site<\/a>. <\/p>\n<h2>Tails 3.2 available<\/h2>\n<p>Tails version 3.2 has been released at September 26, 2017 and my be downloaded for free from this <a href=\"https:\/\/tails.boum.org\/index.de.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tails site<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20211112080314\/https:\/\/tails.boum.org\/news\/version_3.2\/index.de.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">changelogs<\/a> are enlisting the following fixes and improvements.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upgrade <em>Linux<\/em> to 4.12.12. This should improve the support for newer hardware, especially NVIDIA Maxwell graphics card.\n<li>Upgrade <em>Thunderbird<\/em> from 45.8 to 52.3.\n<li>Disable <em>Bluetooth<\/em> to protect against BlueBorne attack.\n<li>ncrease the randomization of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Address_space_layout_randomization\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ASLR<\/a> to the maximum.\n<li>Deny access to the D-Bus service of <em>Pidgin<\/em> to prevent other applications to access and modify its configuration.<\/li>\n<li>Fix the import of secret OpenPGP keys in <em>Password and Keys<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are also smaller improvents like added support for PPPoE and dial-up Internet connection, or an installed <a href=\"http:\/\/kjo.herbesfolles.org\/bookletimposer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BookletImposer<\/a><em><\/em> to convert linear PDF documents into booklets, and vice-versa. Tails 3.2-Version require a 8 GB USB stick to install Tails. 4 GB USB sticks that are already installed can still be upgraded.
