The issue is that right-clicking no longer works in the desktop client. Clipboard operations may need to be performed using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, and Ctrl+V.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>First mentions on the Patchmanagement.org mailing list<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vg06.met.vgwort.de\/na\/0acd14402ce24a4893f89232a9bff658\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>I first came across this bug last Friday on the Patchmanagement.org mailing list in the post titled \"<a href=\"https:\/\/groups.google.com\/g\/patchmanagement\/c\/S_yU0qqLP08\/m\/ivGx8dmNBAAJ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Users may be unable to use the copy and paste function in Microsoft Teams desktop client chats<\/a>\" Someone referenced issue <a href=\"https:\/\/support.nhs.net\/2026\/04\/microsoft-365-alert-service-degradation-exchange-online-users-may-have-been-intermittently-unable-to-access-their-exchange-online-mailboxes-in-some-connection-methods-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TM1279908 &#8211; Microsoft 365 Alert \u2013 Service Degradation \u2013 Microsoft Teams \u2013 Users may be unable to use the copy and paste function in Microsoft Teams desktop client chats<\/a>\u2014which provided further details.<\/p>\n<p>Affected users are reporting various issues with the Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365) features in Microsoft Teams. They have reported that they cannot copy and paste URLs, text, or images in chats within the Microsoft Teams desktop client, as the paste option is grayed out when accessed via the context menu (right-click).<\/p>\n<p>To work around this issue, Microsoft recommended that users copy the desired URLs, text, and images using Ctrl + C and paste them using Ctrl + V on Windows or Cmd + C and Cmd + V on Mac. In this status update, Microsoft stated that it had identified the potential underlying issue.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft notes that it is currently rolling out a fix in phases while continuing to monitor telemetry data to confirm the resolution. The next status update is scheduled for April 21, 2026. It is reported that Microsoft is rolling out a fix for this issues.
