Windows Update drops error code 0x80070002. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I received some user notes, that executing <em>sfc \/scannow <\/em>in a administrative command prompt window, some damages will be repaired, and the cumulative update KB3081455 can be installed. The root cause for this install issue is ridiculous: Changing some Windows 10 start menu entries prevents the update install. This has been documented in comments within my German blog post <a href=\"http:\/\/www.borncity.com\/blog\/2015\/09\/09\/windows-10-kumulatives-september-update-kb3081455\">Windows 10: Kumulatives September-Update KB3081455<\/a> and within <a href=\"http:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/forum\/windows_10-update\/cant-install-kb3081455\/4eb9a010-1e67-409f-9b0b-d258e7d85e03\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this MS Answers<\/a> forum thread:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>My suspicion was that the update might fail because I had moved that link in the Start Menu into another folder (see above).
