Support has expired, but you can still update the operating system with security updates. Here are the update infos for February 2018.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>There are still updates&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/ssl-vg03.met.vgwort.de\/na\/e902aef80cd347ba8413345a19a92408\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\">In April 2017 the extended support for Windows Vista expired &#8211; I had reported about it in the blog article <a href=\"https:\/\/borncity.com\/win\/2017\/04\/11\/windows-vista-reached-end-of-live-april-11-2017\/\">Windows Vista reached End of Live (April 11, 2017)<\/a>. Microsoft no longer distributes security updates for this operating system. But the code base used for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 is the same. This allows updates for Windows Server 2008 to be downloaded manually from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catalog.update.microsoft.com\/\">Microsoft Update Catalog<\/a> and installed manually under Windows Vista. <\/p>\n<h2>Updates for Vista from February 2018<\/h2>\n<p>Some of my German&nbsp; blog readers thankfully do the work and add the available updates in comments to the article Tip: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.borncity.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/23\/tipp-updates-fr-windows-vista-nach-supportende\/\">Tipp: Updates f\u00fcr Windows Vista nach Supportende<\/a> (or in other posts).
