But it's possible, to download the install image fro Microsoft's servers today.<\/p>\n<h2>Download ESD files <\/h2>\n<p>The abbreviation ESD stands for Electronic Software Distribution &#8211; the format in which Microsoft distributes the downloads of installation images during updates. An XML file containing the direct download links for various .ESD files may be downloaded from the specified download address. This <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190622164613\/http:\/\/sihmar.com\/how-to-convert-windows-10-esd-to-iso\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">site<\/a> provides a description, that outlines how to convert the .ESD file to an ISO file for installation. However, this approach is quite complicated.  <\/p>\n<h2>Use the Media Creation Tool with a trick<\/h2>\n<p>Windows 10 April Update will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/software-download\/windows10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">downloadable<\/a> via Media Creation Tool from April 30, 2018. You can store it as an ISO file and burn it to a DVD or store it on an USB stick. But it's possible to use Media Creation Tool today, to download an install image of Windows 10 April Update.  <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Important: <\/strong>The Windows Media Creation Tool need to be launched from an administrator account. Otherwise the tool will drop an error. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>If you download a version of the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft today, you will still be offered the old ISO files from Windows 10 version 1709. The colleagues of deskmodder.de had sketched <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deskmodder.de\/blog\/2018\/04\/26\/mediacreationtool-windows-10-1803-17134-herunterladen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> (German) however an unofficial solution, in order to get to current installation pictures.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Download the Media Creation Tool <a href=\"https:\/\/download.microsoft.com\/download\/A\/B\/E\/ABEE70FE-7DE8-472A-8893-5F69947DE0B1\/MediaCreationTool.exe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">from Microsoft<\/a> and save it in a local folder (e.g. Win10MCT).\n<li>Then download the file <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deskmodder.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/products-1.zip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">products.zip<\/a>, unpack it and copy the <em>products.cab<\/em> into the folder where the .exe file of the Media Creation Tool is stored.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After these preparations make sure that you are logged in under an administrator account and open a command prompt. Then navigate to the folder with the Media Creation Tool and start it with the following command:  <\/p>\n<p><em>MediaCreationTool.exe \/Selfhost<\/em>  <\/p>\n<p>The option <em>Selfhost <\/em>causes the information to be taken from the products.cab and the download takes the image of build 17134.1.
