Well, it seems that Microsoft feel, a short tweet is sufficient to inform their customers about new Firmware update. Doug Holland, Microsoft Evangelist, announced this night the firmware update via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dougholland\/status\/667086284972658688\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">twitter<\/a>. <\/p>\n<blockquote lang=\"de\" class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Surface Book Firmware Update 11\/18 now available from Windows Update <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SurfaceBook?src=hash\">#SurfaceBook<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Surface?src=hash\">#Surface<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Doug Holland (@dougholland) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dougholland\/status\/667086284972658688\">18. Details about the fixes provided by this firmware updates are not available yet at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/surface\/en-us\/support\/install-update-activate\/surface-book-update-history?os=windows-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Update History pages for the Surface Book<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/surface\/en-us\/support\/install-update-activate\/surface-pro-4-update-history?os=windows-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Surface Pro 4<\/a>. Searching the web, I came across this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Surface\/comments\/3tcg2r\/the_firmware_update_its_here_its_here_sp4_at_least\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reddit.com<\/a> (via <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20151122060307\/http:\/\/www.winbeta.org:80\/news\/new-surface-book-and-surface-pro-4-firmware-updates-rolling-out-now\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">winbeta.org<\/a>) thread. Somebody has inspected the event log and the update history. Here are the fixes for the Surface Book:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Intel -Other hardware &#8211; Intel Management Engine Interface\n<li>Intel Corporation &#8211; Other Hardware &#8211; Intel Precise Touch Device\n<li>Microsoft &#8211; Other Hardware &#8211; Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Control\n<li>Microsoft &#8211; Other Hardware &#8211; Surface UEFI\n<li>Microsoft &#8211; Other Hardware &#8211; Surface Management Engine\n<li>Microsoft &#8211; Other Hardware &#8211; Surface Touch Servicing MLB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But the Intel Display Driver is from 27. October and NVIDIA graphics driver is dated 15. September 2015. Here are bugs, users reported after firmware update:&nbsp; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Dock still doesn't charge if you detach the screen and re-attach (even though the charging light is on).\n<li>Intel Display Driver still crashes (2x since updating so far).\n<li>The Dock still requires a special song and dance with cables and power cycling to get it to work with external monitors.\n<li>Tablet mode prompt seemed to work properly for the first time ever&#8230; let's see if that keeps up : )<strong>EDIT<\/strong>: Yup! Fixed!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160220031608\/http:\/\/microsoft-news.com\/microsoft-releases-new-firmware-updates-for-surface-book-and-surface-pro-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Here sombody reported<\/a> other issus (disply crash hasn't been observed for an hour), he observed delays and som Edge issues. When it is closed it tends to get warm and I feel like the battery is draining more than it should in this mode. Hopefully this firmware addresses this. Other than that, it is working flawlessly<\/em>. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>makes me feel silly. Should this issue not have been fixed with the firmware update release 2. November 2015?  <\/p>\n<p>The only official announcement till yet about fixes for Surface Book I found, was at Microsoft Answers forum. <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The following update will be listed as \"System Firmware Update \u2013 11\/18\/2015\" within the Windows Update History..<strong> <\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Surface UEFI update (v88.870.770.0) improves system stability.<\/p>\n<li>\n<p>Surface Management Engine update (v1.0.0.1183) provides touch optimizations.<\/p>\n<li>\n<p>Precise Touch Device driver update (v1.1.0.217) provides touch optimizations.<\/p>\n<li>\n<p>Management Engine Interface driver update (v11.0.0.1172) provides touch optimizations.<\/p>\n<li>\n<p>Surface Touch Servicing ML driver update (v1.0.36.1) provides touch optimizations.<\/p>\n<li>\n<p>Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery driver update (v1.2.0.2) ensures correct Surface driver is installed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note&nbsp; <\/strong>When Surface updates are provided via the Windows Update service, they are delivered in stages to Surface customers. As a result, not every Surface will receive the update at the same time, but the update will be delivered to all devices. If you have not received the update then please manually check Windows Update later.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I didn't found similar descriptions for Surface Pro 4 till yet. But buying a Microsoft device for several hundred dollars and will be served like shown above, looks cheep \u2013 a behavior like a garage firm.
