A few hours ago, Microsoft released another fix KB 3025390, to repair screwups in Internet Explorer 11.

I just recognized during shutdown, that my Windows 7 machine received an update. Inspecting details, I detected KB 3025390 for Internet Explorer 11. Microsoft issued this KB article addressing the reason for this patch:

You install MS14-080: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer: December 9, 2014 (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/3008923)

on a computer that's running Internet Explorer 11 or the Internet Explorer 11 Web Browser control. However, after you do this, you may experience unexpected behavior when you interact with sites that use one or more web application modal dialog boxes. Any data or information that's provided in the modal dialog box may not be returned to the application window or to the dialog box that created the data or information. Therefore, the application that created the dialog box may exhibit errors or lack specific functionality that was dependent on that dialog box data.

So, it's another fix for some December patchday mess, Microsoft has caused on many systems. Update: After searching the web, I found this article with further details.

Similar articles:
Mysterious Update KB3024777 for Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 R2 revealed–Just a fix for KB 3004394
December Update blocks ActiveX/Macro execution in Excel 2013
Patchday: Windows Update error 800706F7
Update KB3004394 breaks Root Certificate in Windows 7/ Windows Server 2008 R2

I haven't noticed it, but last December patchday has also screwed up Internet Explorer.
