This is an important maintenance update which fixes some vulnerabilities and bugs. Here is some information about it.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>German blog reader Ralf pointed out the new release in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.borncity.com\/blog\/2019\/01\/30\/thunderbird-60-5-0-verfgbar\/#comment-68454\" target=\"_blank\">this comment<\/a> (thanks for that). I just started the update search in Thunderbird, and got the update offered. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Thunderbird 60.5.1\" alt=\"Thunderbird 60.5.1\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/iOEdLHW.jpg\">  <\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/60.5.1\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\">release notes<\/a> the CalDav access for some servers, which did not work so far, was patched. Furthermore, some highly rated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2019-06\/\" target=\"_blank\">vulnerabilities from this list<\/a> have been fixed. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2019-06\/#CVE-2018-18356\" target=\"_blank\">CVE-2018-18356: Use-after-free in Skia<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2019-06\/#CVE-2019-5785\">CVE-2019-5785: Integer overflow in Skia<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2019-06\/#CVE-2018-18335\">CVE-2018-18335: Buffer overflow in Skia with accelerated Canvas 2D<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/security\/advisories\/mfsa2019-06\/#CVE-2018-18509\">CVE-2018-18509: S\/MIME signature spoofing<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In general, these flaws cannot be exploited through email in the Thunderbird product because scripting is disabled when reading mail, but are potentially risks in browser or browser-like contexts.
