This is a maintenance update which fixes the MAPI problems of version 60.5.2. Here is some information about it.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>The mailto bug<\/h2>\n<p>There was a bug under Windows that caused mailto files to be sent in Thunderbird 60.5.2 (and possibly earlier versions). I have discussed the issue and a fix in the article <a href=\"https:\/\/borncity.com\/win\/2019\/03\/02\/thunderbird-60-5-2-causes-a-mapi-error-a-workaround\/\">Thunderbird 60.5.2 causes a MAPI error \u2013 a workaround<\/a>. This caused Mozilla to temporarily suspend the auto update to Thunderbird 60.5.2 on Windows.<\/p>\n<h2>Thunderbird 60.5.3 available via Auto-Update <\/h2>\n<p>German blog reader mike pointed out within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.borncity.com\/blog\/2019\/03\/04\/thunderbird-60-5-2-zurckgezogen\/#comment-69034\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this comment<\/a>, that Thunderbird 60.5.3 available (thanks).&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Thunderbird 60.5.3\" alt=\"Thunderbird 60.5.3\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/laXDhek.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>I just started the update search in Thunderbird, and got the update offered (see screenshot). According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/thunderbird\/60.5.3\/releasenotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">release notes<\/a>, the following bug has been fixed:&nbsp; <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Problem when using \"Send to &gt; Mail recipient\" on Windows introduced in version 60.5.2<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The following known bugs have not been fixed:&nbsp; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Due to changes in the Mozilla platform profiles stored on Windows network shares addressed via drive letters are now addressed via UNC\n<li>Chat: Twitter not working due to API changes at Twitter.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The mail client can be downloaded from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thunderbird.net\/en-US\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thunderbird site<\/a> for Windows, macOS and Linux. Further details can be found in the Release Notes.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<h2>Are there any new issues?<\/h2>\n<p>Within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.borncity.com\/blog\/2019\/03\/02\/thunderbird-60-5-2-verursacht-mapi-fehler-ein-workaround\/#comment-69038\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this comment<\/a> German blog reader Martin Wirtz confirmed, that the automatic update fixed the mailto bug in Windows 7. But he thinks he found a new bug in Windows 7:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The computer now has some problems with long file paths that are not on the desktop. File attachments can be sent from the desktop.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I tried to to include an attachment from a folder with a path name of about 20 characters, and could not reproduce the issue Martin reported. Here the Thunderbird sent this attachment.
