This numer has now been officially announced by Microsoft has made it. Here is a brief look at this figure and what it means.

Microsoft has announced 600 Million active Windows 10 devices in November 2017 (see my blog post Windows 10: AdDuplex figures and 600 Million active devices. This number has been confirmed in March 2018, as Terry Myerson leaves Microsoft. And end of November 2018, Satya Nadella mentioned this number also on a stock holder meeting. But on Sept. 2018, 700 Million Windows 10 devices has been named on Ignite conference (see). Neowin.net has also a graphics showing the raise of Windows 10.

Thank you to all our customers and partners for helping us achieve 800 million #Windows10 devices and the highest customer satisfaction in the history of Windows. https://t.co/G3CRdkFoPT pic.twitter.com/je9kvBvYhj

— Yusuf Mehdi (@yusuf_i_mehdi) 7. But it's worth taking a look behind the numbers. These 800 million units also include the Surface Hub, the HoloLens or the Xbox. And there are also the Windows Phones with Windows 10, which are still out there. The number of Windows 10 desktop systems should therefore be lower and far away from the 1 billion installations that Microsoft had announced in 2015 for the end of 2018.

(Source: Microsoft)

Windows 10 is running on 800 million devices.
