There are reports that the update KB4493509 slows down machines with Windows 10 V1809 extremely. <strong>Addendum<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> Avira confirmed such an issue.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Update KB4493509 causes some Windows 10 V1809 machines to become extremely slow.\u00a0 I had already read it somewhere in a comment on the web today (was a VM), but can't find this page anymore. Now I found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.askwoody.com\/2019\/reports-of-this-months-win10-version-1809-cumulative-update-kb-4493509-causing-extreme-slowdowns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this info at askwoody.com<\/a>, which reports something similar.<\/p>\n<p>Bogdan Popa has published <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190416183239\/https:\/\/news.softpedia.com\/news\/windows-10-cumulative-update-kb4493509-causing-system-slowdowns-other-issues-525644.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this article on Softpedia<\/a>. There are reports that the update freezes the systems or causes them to hang. Also a login is no longer possible.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2026\u00a0 I'm seeing various reports of substantial PC slowdowns, freezes, and system hangs after installing KB4493509.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Within the Microsoft Answers forum there is <a href=\"https:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/forum\/all\/kb4493509-update-problems\/5d544746-92f2-4f61-928f-0b45e7d1a053\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this thread<\/a>, which contains a discussion of this issue. Avira has now confirmed exactly this slowdown in <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190808113214\/https:\/\/www.avira.com\/en\/support-for-home-knowledgebase-detail\/kbid\/1976\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an article<\/a>.
